Pros
I genuinely do think that there are many kind people there that will offer mentorship if you seek it out. They also will allow you to aggressively advance your career if you’re successful, this is also a con. I do believe almost all the leadership in our office was promoted from within.
Cons
Bad commission structure. You get no commission unless you hit a certain threshold, when you do hit it you get a sliding scale of 7-15%. From others I’ve talked to in the space this seems pretty bad. For being a sales org it really didn’t seem like anyone was making over six figures aside from maybe the top 10% in the office. This is just bad compared to other sales roles I’ve been in.
For the money the work life balance is pretty bad too. Seemed like most days were 8-6.
High turnover and for good reason. It seems like 90% of people don’t last a year. Those 90% are typically split between two groups. The half that can sell and are successful typically go to another agency or leave for a true sales role. The other half gets pip’d and fired. The last 10% does advance to be fair.
My manager was personally fine, but I heard some horror stories about managers here. The issue is that anyone who is a good individual contributor can be a manager because of the turnover.
