Pros

When joining you feel like you will be changing the world. It is a noble cause to fight the incumbent and offer customer a real choice for their electricity. Saying you work for Elon Musk is nice too.

Cons

I mentioned the pros above. Unfortunately, they do not come close to balancing out the cons. You feel like cattle being led to the slaughterhouse. Managers, Directors and VP's look at you as pawns in their own chess game for bragging rights. The losing manager is paraded around in a TuTu.It is a frat house, Bro attitude among the leaders. They are focused solely on Cost of Acquisition and not developing their people. Half or full day meetings where they push two messages Premium Opportunities and Pull-Through. This is not my first sales job, so I know its all about the numbers. Even when you are 100% referral with a low COA and high pull-through, you still aren't safe. Be Aware. They do not care about you and your family at all. It is all about their egos.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
