Pros

-Unlimited Earning Potential – successful brokers make from $60 – $350k -Office amenities – basketball court, 24/7 convenience store on site, 24/7 workout facility -Training – Extensive classroom and mentor training for the first 18 weeks to learn logistics business followed by 8 weeks of Sales training. TQL gives you the tools needed to succeed. -Opportunity for Advancement – TQL is growing at an incredible rate, this growth opens up more management opportunities because TQL likes to keep the individual sales teams small. -Fast paced environment – there is always something to do, always an opportunity to increase your income. -Reputation in the industry – TQL is ranked the #1 3PL provider in the fresh food supply chain. Outsourced Logistics,Voted the #1 Carrier among Shippers and Receivers among the Produce and Perishable Community! The Packer

Cons

- Time Investment – Success brokers typically choose to work between 50 – 60 hours in their first two years at TQL, to facilitate growing their book of business and commission checks. - High Stress- The nature of the transportation industry and the challenges of moving trucks and drivers 1000’s of miles a week in itself is challenging and stressful. Customers and carriers alike have problems that arise that put stress on your shoulders. There are 16,000+ brokers in the USA, meaning that for every piece of business you go after you are potentially competing with 16,000 other brokerage companies to obtain that business. Finally you add in the stress of competition with your fellow brokers internally, everyone is competing for a chance to work companies across the US. Brokers are also competing on having the highest call totals, call times and sales amongst their colleagues. -Night Calls – Logistics Account Executives at TQL are required to be available 24/7 via their cell phones. You are required to be available and answer calls from both the night dispatch staff and your customers. This could mean a 2:30 AM wakeup call about a truck broken down in the middle of Iowa that is due to deliver in Omaha, NE at 0800. At this point you have to update your customer and instruct night dispatch on how to find the carrier a repair man. - Very difficult at times – In my estimation TQL is not a fit for about 80% of job seekers. If you aren’t extremely competitive this isn’t the place for you. - On my first day at TQL, I asked the person I was sitting next to in orientation if he was worried about the time commitment and the rate of failure in commission sales. He turned to me and said, “I would eat drywall every day to make 100k a year.” That is the kind of drive and attitude you have to have to make it in this business.
