Pros
Unilever is a highly respected and well-established company in the industry, making it a sought-after partner for many vendors. This reputation brings a strong sense of confidence and reassurance, knowing you're working with an organization recognized for its credibility and stability.
Cons
I worked for Unilever Prestige, a subsidiary of Unilever. Overall, the experience was positive, though there were some noticeable challenges. One of the main issues was a lack of cohesion between Prestige and the broader Unilever organization—at times, it felt like the two were operating in silos despite being under the same corporate umbrella. This disconnect was especially evident in the IT domain, where there was a significant gap in integration and support. Many infrastructure elements were controlled by Unilever, limiting Prestige’s ability to operate independently. At the same time, the Prestige team didn’t receive the level of support needed to bridge those limitations effectively. In summary, while the role had its rewarding aspects, there was a recurring sense of misalignment and insufficient support that created confusion and impacted performance.
