REALLY BAD ROLE - Field Sales Representative Virgin Media Employee Review

Pros

None, driving around a branded car isn’t a pro, as all you’re doing is advertising the company for free.

Cons

• Extremely high turnover: In my cohort of 9 starters (June 2025), 50% had left by August and everyone had left by the end of the year. Average employees rarely last longer than 6 months. • Working hours (12:00–20:00) are difficult. Most people are at work until 17:00, so the prime window for sales is narrow and challenging. • Targets are very high, and management can be overly critical and micromanage when targets aren’t hit. • Company culture sometimes encourages pushy tactics, which can feel uncomfortable and ethically questionable. • Competition is strong customers can choose online, telesales, or Virgin shops, making door to door sales harder than ever. • The pressure to meet targets can feel outdated given current consumer behavior. If you’re not hitting sales quickly they will manage you out because replacing you is quick, this job is a job to get if you’re desperate and need quick money. There is no future here unfortunately
