Pros

I can pay bills and feed my family

Cons

Initially signed a contract (I thought was supposed to be legally binding?) for an hourly pay rate. This way, I at least was compensated for saying over the 12 hr shift time to take care of pt’s who present near closing. No problem. That’s what I’m there for. NOT ANYMORE. They abruptly and without notice swapped us to salary. No I get to work a certain portion of hours FOR FREE. They softened the cruel blow with giving us the option of a “soft close,” which means we can stop seeing pt’s at 15 minutes till closing. Still didn’t save me from doing free labor, but hey, it was something. 6 months or so after this, they abruptly take away the soft close, citing disgruntled pt reviews online (they sure do like to ignore disgruntled employee reviews though). Also, the new contract they tried to get us to sign is the shadiest thing I’ve ever read—the right to decrease pay, change your home clinic at will, and they gloss over exactly how much per hour you’re supposed to be paid and that we don’t get overtime compensation??? It’s a joke. Seriously, I think they want us providers to unionize. Oh, another thing, they censor company emails and IM’s through IT. They don’t like free speech.

Pros

Flexible schedules, great coworkers, decent health insurance

Cons

The higher ups have absolutely no regard for your opinion. They will cut you out without a blink. Recently they switched all providers to salary, without any say or forewarning. This has thus far resulted in me being unable to buy groceries or travel, or doing anything I could do prior to this change. As compensation for those of us who picked up so many shifts, they now offer a “fee” to pick up shifts. A few that is only pennies more than my base salary. No more double time, no mileage under fifty miles, and then the managers still get snippy when you don’t want to come in on your days off.

Thank you for your response and for sharing your concerns. We made the decision to change providers to salary because they meet the professional exemption under the Department of Labor's regulations and this is consistent with some other health facilities. Our company is also offering opportunities for providers to make more compensation by picking up additional shifts. We are very thankful for our providers as they help manage their teams and provide great care to our patients. If you have any questions or would like to talk further, please contact the Director of Human Resources at 615-988-1631.

Pros

Coffee was supplied and free

Cons

Poor upper level management. No one knew what the other was supposed to do. There was no response to your questions. The clinic directors had access to chart at home while everyone else has to stay at the clinic to document and complete charts. Dr. Isn’t employed by FP, but rather has this as a side gig to his regular job. Sometimes he will respond quickly, and other times it might be 12 AM..there are no lunch breaks, but they will take it out of your check. They also brow beat you into coming in on your days off because they cannot get anyone to work in this place. They do not take care of their providers. You’ll have to clean your office and take out the trash, they want you to do all virtual encounters and call all labs same day...i think these are unrealistic expectations for a single person. SO RUN
