Pros

Beautiful offices, and there are some generally great people working there. If they practised what they preach it would be a great place to work

Cons

Managers are un-supportive, training is non existent, the culture is cliquey. I've seen brilliant people forced out due to not being buddies with management

Poor Leadership

Pros

You can carve out your own space within this company. It can be a tricky path but if you contribute to some successful projects you can build your internal brand and thus your own business within the company. A lot will depend on the relationships you build with colleagues in control of budgets. Most people are paid a base salary along with bonus system similar to billing hours/commission.

Cons

Since virtually everyone is paid on a commission system, you are extremely reliant on the sales team who are the managing partners of the company. The integrity of some of the MP's can be questionable and they build their own fiefdoms within the organization. If you need any structure this is not the right fit. For example there is no time off policy...take as little or as much as you need. It sounds interesting at first but in practice is very difficult because you are always looking for work internally. This biggest worry of all it that senior leadership is not very strong, a clear example of the dangers of nepotism at a private company.

Pros

A number of good, clever and engaged colleagues. Still enjoys a good reputation for research (until when?). A shared sense of making the world (a little bit) better with what Gallup produces (analyses, data or engagement work). Attention is given to providing for a good working environment. Good work/life balance.

Cons

Lousy management. Strategic decisions often unclear/non transparent. Family-owned company with all the limitations it implies, exec board not very open to non family members, nepotism. Few prospects for personal and career development (unless you are ready to lick a**** or get married to the Clifton's family). Company is rather risk averse and does not do what it preaches (engagement score are not really used properly, one day you are hero and the other day you are being made redundant for obscure reasons sometimes as you can be sacked very quickly). Although probably a good salesman, CEO is quite weak in terms of vision and strategy and has not proved he can take the company to the next level. Not quite sure if putting his son as his own successor will make it any better or is even good for the future of the company actually...
