Pros

The management are too disconnected to realise most things going in the workplace, so it is often easy to block things out and do your qork

Cons

The culture has devolved into one of micro-management, passive aggressive cliques and bizarre workplace politics. The supervisors do little to no work and seem to climb into their positions by schmoozing with senior management, people show blatant favouritism and they have a pretty obvious disregard for anything outside of the latest half-baked productivity jargon. No amount of money is worth working at a place like this. When I'm on my death bed, one my thoughts will surely be "damn, I wasted so much time working at I-MED"

Pros

You will be regularly but poorly paid.

Cons

Toxic working environment. Management is extremely poor. Most managers have no idea what the job involves or the degree of difficulty, but rely on computer generated statistics to judge job performance. This allows staff with poor work ethic to flourish at the expense of their more conscientous co-workers. I have experienced dishonesty in managers who avoid responsibility for their own mistakes. Seniority and experience are not valued. There are no opportunities to improve one's skills or remuneration. Pay increases for clerical staff are non-existent. You get sent an email telling you you haven't earned a pay increase, even though there has been no performance review or interview. In real terms salaries are moving backwards. Accuracy is not valued, only speed; this is absolutely the wrong priority. Mistakes can be made which affect peoples' health and actual lives.

Pros

Salary Vibrant, newly set up contact centre premises Good staff ammenities: on-site snack market to purchase snacks (chocolates, chips etc.) and drinks (soft drinks, juices etc.) from. Nespresso Coffee Machine/s (coffee capsules provided)

Cons

Inhumane slavery kind of working conditions, where staff & patient well-being is placed secondary to revenue generation. Any complaints by a staff member about the terrible working conditions, are responded to harshly by management. They will try everything (including making false alligations on you) to get you out of the workplace immediately, before other staff (your colleagues) join in to complain about the workconditions & workpractices. Mafia / gangster style intimidation tactics applied by contact centre management to staff (contact centre agents) to keep them terrified. It felt like working in a third world country where workers are exploited by employers. This is the first large business / employer that I have come across in Australia, that engages in a third-world country type of employee exploitation. All this while it collects over a billion dollars in revenue each year from Medicare (our tax money).
