Pros

-Mediocre "perks" for on sight employees only -You get close to your coworkers through trauma bonding -Such high turnover that if you make it more than 6 months you essentially have seniority -Nothing is documented so you can get away with just saying you did not know

Cons

My first red flag should have been having to fight so hard for fair pay from the start. Even so keep in mind there are no year end bonuses or raises so you get what you get. They are always understaffed because they like it that way. They value saving money over anything else, with constant lay offs during the slow season and then they scramble to get coverage when it gets busy again. Meaning you will be required to do things out of your job description so they can get by with not hiring the needed staff. Management spends their whole day in meetings making promises to leadership that they can deliver unrealistic metrics. When surprise they cannot they will find someone to blame so make sure it is not you. Get everything in writing as they love to promise things and then conveniently forget every having that conversation. Seriously screenshot and document things yourself as they have no problem throwing you under the bus or threatening your job.

Pros

The pay is typically in the 75th percentile for the market. As others have mentioned, there are some good and smart people sprinkled throughout the organization.

Cons

If you interview here, I encourage you to look up product reviews. Ask what type of people excel at K and what their company values are. Ask to speak to a woman in a leadership position. Ask about turnover. Ask the hard questions so you know what you’re walking into and can make an informed decision. My advice would be to not ignore the red flags in the interviews. Don’t let the money or pitch of K Health persuade you, because you will quickly realize how dysfunctional the organization is and how disposable everyone is to the cofounders. Many companies have negative reviews from former employees, but please believe this one when you read it. This is not coming from a place of resentment. It’s the hope I can prevent someone else from making the mistake of joining this company. Based on my experience: K Health is truly as terrible as the reviews say. It takes “toxic culture” to a new level. Leadership is driven by large egos that believe every employee is lazy and taking advantage of them. Every task, no matter how big or small, is treated like a fire drill. This perpetuates burnout among teams and consistently tears down motivation. Even the strong employees begin to perform poorly due to the culture. Leaders purposely speak ill of each other behind their backs to create a competitive culture. Women don’t typically succeed at K because they promote argumentative and condescending personalities. A lot of women, and many men, will not thrive in this environment. Do your research and make an educated decision before joining. Company culture is not something to go cheap on. Good luck out there!
