Pros

Money to be made if you have thick sick and no personal life whatsoever.

Cons

I've worked here over one year, and during my tenure I've witnessed erratic and inappropriate public displays by both the owners, who micro-manage the sales department, and by team members, many of them who seem dangerously underqualified to be handling large sums of business investment. Many shady and underhanded sales tactics are encouraged. If you question the owner's methodology, he will consider you persona non grata and threaten legal repercussions. The owners brag about being self-made millionaires but fail to acknowledge their own family wealth and privilege. Days are spent trying to focus in vain on work while listening to them screaming at poor collectors. Why is this? Because they don't like to pay their bills. I don't believe they're transparent with your compensation either, and they will always find excuses to deduct from your commissions over petty grudges, and just plain jealousy. Avoid this place at all costs. I regret leaving a competitor to work here because I was promised the moon and found only a scrappy, hollow meteor of a professional life in return.

Do Not Work Here

Pros

No Pros in working here

Cons

This small company with 15 employees is owned by 2 brothers+family. If you can stand to work hard with little pay and constantly getting yelled at, you may be able to survive. After the yelling and blaming sessions, one of the girls would sob softly, and no one seems to care. The way the owners treat their staff is quite unprofessional with a lack of common courtesy. Beware of working for small companies where the owners can really make or break the job. There are no breaks during the day, you work 8.5 hours with half hour lunch.

Pros

The owner will protect you if you make him enough money, and will not care about whatever offences you may cause during your tenure at MTFX. If you want to work for someone who's like Donald Trump, here's your opportunity.

Cons

When I had reported to the owner that I was physically and sexually harassed during my tenure by one of my co-workers, as well as subject to abusive comments about my religion, he refused to investigate. The owner claims to have an open door policy, but if you ever bring up a complaint he'll sit on his butt and warn one of your co-workers that you're causing problems. He also brags that he's not a micro-manager, but then he'll pick on one of your colleagues to give you a hard time if you're not charging your customers enough commission. The commission spread that you're expected to charge your customers is completely absurd. I have no idea why anyone would do business with MTFX when they could get much cheaper rates from any of our competitors with less impediments and less harassment by pushy salespeople. And keep in mind these are salespeople first, not qualified financial experts. There is a market commentary that is basically just compiled from various other bank and FX market commentaries. I was shocked by how ignorant some of the other "foreign exchange specialists" and traders were of world events that affected currency trades. There is no HR person for this company, which is unusual for a company of over 20 people. That should tell you all you need to know. Many of the positive reviews repeat the same words and phrases such as “growth” – this is something the owner insists on. The owner screams at all his employees if you don't do exactly what he wants. The problem is that he's not clear about what he wants. It's up to you to read his mind. He also doesn't listen. As a salesperson I was once taught by a sales manager at a more reputable company that you need to listen twice as much talk because you have two ears and only one mouth. The owner talks like he's got three mouths and no ears. The owner is very well known in the foreign exchange industry as a shady character. He runs his business like a mob boss. If you want a career in the FX industry work for the banks, AFEX, Mercantile Exchange, Bendix, Cambridge or Western Union. All have a better reputation than MTFX. In my opinion, MTFX is definitely a company due for a reckoning in the post #MeToo era. I look forward to its inevitable demise.
