I have been working at Medpace full-time

    Pros

Salary and bonus are good, depending on whether your face fits and you’re considered as an associate that adds value

    Cons

    Too many to list here.
Lack of parity outside of the US.
Failure to listen and adapt to EU requirements.
Bullying mentality in the U.K. at senior level.
Failure to support career progression at many levels.
CEO is all too keen to belittle associates, rather than commend their dedication and realise that the company is only as good as it is due to the dedication of the associates building and supporting it and not as a result of his work alone

    Advice to Management

Stop believing the internal rhetoric and take a clear look at the overall company health and structure outside of the US and ensure that any such review is not led by EU directors as you will receive a very twisted view listening to their hype alone.

To grow to the CRO that Medpace could be, as there are a very large amount of positive and differentiating qualities to Medpace that other CROs could only dream of achieving, the senior executive team absolutely have to understand that there is more to a global CRO than the US and that the EU leadership team are, for the most part, absolutely not the team to deliver that promise for the company.

U.K. leadership specifically is dictatorial and is creating, as a result, a very toxic environment with mixed messaging and mixed opportunities at all levels. The director team, with few exceptions, are unbelievably poor. The current structure and views in the EU are at the detriment of career/personal development and ultimately organisational growth. The lead EU offices are not aligned with the US. There is no global parity in terms of career opportunities and, specifically in the U.K., the office is managed in a ridiculously poor way. If your face fits and you can deliver profit to the company then you’re golden. Also know that if you provide ideas regarding corporate improvement then they will be belittled, often publicly in U.K. team meetings, (an example of the fair management and leadership style in action), and ultimately pushed to the side. However, please document your suggestions as they will ultimately be adopted by the senior management lead who will subsequently claim the praise for such changes for themselves once adopted at the global level.

The U.K. genuinely is a toxic environment and is by far one of the most toxic environments I’ve ever worked in.

As a potential EU employee please do yourself a favour and avoid Medpace looking to more mature CROs such as ICON, PPD or INC. All such CROs offer flexible working and have a far more mature approach to global alignment and career opportunities.

There are a lot of issues at Medpace, it could be a fantastic CRO, but currently it falls a long way short of its potential.

    Pros

Managed a great team of hard working people. Got broad experience due to the eclectic mix of clients exposed to.

    Cons

Management thrive on believing gossip. A hard core of long serving employees are protected regardless of their behaviour. Good people leave because they can. I felt HR were helpful and professional a couple of years back. This recent tendency to defensive responses to the reviews seem petty and goes a long way to confirming the comments being made.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and develop some management skills.

    Pros

No pros that I can think of

    Cons

Too numerous to mention; it is Cininatti way or the high way. If your face fits you will do well, if not, there is a lot of politics and back biting with no support.

    Advice to Management

Fix flexibility even limited flexibility and then all would be even better

I worked at Medpace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The local Stirling office. Full of a great bunch of good, smart and hard working people.

The initial training and quick progression (for the first few years) to next level of job (if you have a good line manager)

Getting to attend investigator meetings abroad.

Bonus scheme (once you qualify and if you're marked highly enough at your review)

    Cons

Lack of transparency and communication from the London and US headquarters.

Promotions/transfers not fairly or professionally managed. Priority of professional development of the clinical operations team goes to London. This has lead to the unnecessary loss of a lot of good people, and a complete drop in morale.

Personal development is dependent on your line manager. Even then, they do not have the final say.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting good people leave by treating them fairly, communicating better and rewarding hard work. If not, more people will leave and the reputation of the local office will continue to dwindle.

    Pros

Great staff, i worked in a great team which had some great people working in it, flexible on working hours, nice working environment

    Cons

poor management of staff, low pay, US office does not allow UK offices to function properly

    Advice to Management

Provide more management to be taken on by UK office, and also provide higher salary increases rather than frequent small increases.

I worked at Medpace full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are none other than they will hire you even if you have no experience. If you are struggling to get your first job, apply and try to stay for six months so you can move on. I would give zero stars if this was an option.

    Cons

Gossip ridden company with inexperience management that promote employees based on favouritism as opposed to any sort of skill. The pay is very low and the promotion increases are ridiculously low with no task changes, therefore the only change is a new number behind your title!

    Advice to Management

Get in new, experienced managers who will be on the office floor to manage staff. Take feedback at exit interviews seriously. More than 50% of the department has left in the last year for the same reasons
