Pros

- Health Benefits on day one - 401K Retirement plan - Life Insurance Plan

Cons

What they have taken from us during the pandemic: - COVID-19 Free PTO if you get COVID-19, thank you CDC and the bullying happening within One Medical - The ability to organize without fear of retaliation - Our rights as essential workers being disregarded for the profitability of the company - Open-door policy Reasonable accommodations for high risk and the autoimmune, they discontinued the accommodation program without telling anyone Bias, Discrimination, Microaggression, Retaliation: - Higher Leadership, some office management/DM and up nationally, are consciously bias, dishonest and morally reprehensible - Consistent microaggressions toward MSS (Admins) and LSS (Phlebotomist) not taking on multiple jobs with no pay increase and it is expected - Discrimination, bias and microaggression towards employees with medical reasons as to why they cannot work at an office, but need to work remotely due to the global pandemic. Widely quoted among employees: “They won't fire you, they will just make YOU quit!” - Company on a whole doesn't honor a open door policy or safe spaces to report discrimination, bias, retaliation, ect. - Tenure based discrimination in regards to "climbing the ladder", You could have a degree with 20 years under your belt and they would still promote their white best work friend or find a compliant POC to "Look" diverse. - Diversity standards and practices are nothing to where they should be. - Forcing out employees saying " We're not going in the direction of remote work because we provide you with all the PPE you could need" to people with disabilities, individuals that are high risk to COVID and the autoimmune Benefits, Wages, PTO and HR Responsibility: - Appalling PTO Practices: Sick hrs come out of your PTO which is earned at a very low rate per check - Only 3 days of bereavement per year, no matter the situation during this global pandemic - Underpaid: Wages are at least $18 less than medical industry starting standards and it doesn't matter if you have experience or degrees - Actively pushing employees to move to different states so they can justify paying less, some as low as $15 an hr for mid/operations-management work expectations - Raise schedule based off tenor and not performance - Wage caps at all levels except executive level and the caps for MSS and LSS are under the normal standard for the medical industry - Predatory Company “tier” Insurance Plans that are only worth it if you are seen at a One Medical Location but get horrible coverage at ALL outside In Network facilities - Zero covered PTO for employees who cannot work due to a family or house member getting COVID-19. - HR team, special attention to Meg Mohoric among others, is completely corrupt and is only out on the behalf of the company no matter the situation and consistently violates employees request to be anonymous and still tells the leadership in question about private conversations. Commonly uses entrapment meeting techniques. Position Expectations: - Office Managers are completely taken advantage of and given the tasks of their DMs, who are useless. - Work expectations are not what is advertised or established in your first 2 weeks of training. - MSS/Admin are expected to take on “Interim office manager” positions for no pay raise and title because higher leadership refuse to hire from within. - The expectations at the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic were increased 10x and if you were not on board with becoming a frontline team you “are not being a team player” because One Medical is a primary care provider company NOT first responders. - You receive almost no training from week 3 onward and are expected to find all the answers in a broken internal search engine. - Standard Work Instructions, when updated and changed, are never announced and you will receive “Action Plans” if you mess up because your management never informed you of these changes. - You don’t receive proper write ups. You never sign anything, but are told you are written up and use it to intimidate. Company as a whole: - Blatant Union Busting/Anti Union propaganda is normalized in conversations about how we are a "Family". - Hires outside contractors during high turnover rates and pays at a higher wage instead of hiring from within - The mission and purpose of One Medical was replaced with a money centric mentality after going public. - Their one claim to fame is that they have a high percentage of employees who are Female and the “females” are still working underpaid, insured and taking on multiple jobs due to mis-management at the highest level. - Use millions on “Annual East Coast and West Coast Events” instead of paying your company living wages, so you can write it off. Thanks for the fireworks but your company can’t afford rent! - “As the Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of 1Life Healthcare, the total compensation of Amir Rubin at 1Life Healthcare is $13,920,200.Dec 3, 2021” quoted from the highest web search of the net worth and pay of the CEO, meanwhile MSS, LSS, and Office Managers can’t make enough to live nationally without a second income.

Pros

The people are awesome, strong mission, great industry, solid benefits. One Medical is a great place to work and grow. There are still lots of ways to make an impact and resources to help employees are improving every year. You don't have all the 'perks' of a true tech company but the business outlook and industry are much stronger than the next pizza app.

Cons

Internal communication needs improvement and operations arm needs some revamp.
