The worst job I ever had.

Pros

Great people work here - they're easy to find and get along with. Unlimited Vacation Fully remote

Cons

Worst job I've ever had - sent me into a spiral of stress and burnout. Serious disconnect at the leadership level, sacrificing *everything*, even future potential, for sales. Leadership is in way over their heads - this is NOT run like a tech company, it is NOT a fintech, and they will never achieve product excellence because of it. A solid chunk of the executive team are friends and family, and there's little accountability at top of house for poor leadership. Extremely meeting-centric, struggle to work asynch, and dozens upon dozens of false promises of upcoming acqiusitions and product updates that are never achieved. This place singlehandedly destroyed my mental wellbeing. I worked around the clock to do the work of an entire team. Multiple meetings with my manager IN TEARS and complaints to HR fell on deaf ears. I didn't last long. Stay away if you value your mental health. Don't believe the shiny sales pitch.

Pros

The unlimited vacation policy is a nice perk but don't be fooled by it. Somehow Paystone has managed to attract or retain great people, some of the best I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

Cons

Most of the projects are empty or short-sighted. The leadership has no idea where they want to go or what to do with their existing products. Products from companies acquired years ago are still not integrated. The current economy has forced the leadership to wake up (a bit) and stop spending ridiculous amounts on useless stuff: they *shipped* 2 chocolate bars to everybody when we crossed the 200 employees threshold, or a popcorn machine for a "movie night", townhalls were "Doordash events", etc. The consequence? 2 series of layoffs in 2023, salaries are frozen for the foreseeable future, you name it... Their solution to pretty much everything now is to offshore anything they can. By the way, new employees are asked to post positive reviews on Glassdoor as part of their onboarding, trust them if you want..

Pros

-basic to zero b2b sales experience required. -speedy hiring process. -positive attitude around the office (but you won't benefit from it as you are on the road)

Cons

-"pass the buck" attitude from directors and supervisors providing zero help with issues or problems that may arise. ------such as; not receiving commissions or harassing/threatening calls from unsatisfied clients. -a company truly not in the drivers seat. With such a lengthy approval process for boarding clients and the inability to have final say on who gets approved your time will be routinely wasted. This will cost you money, time, energy, gas and opportunity. -no cell, no gas, no expense reimbursements. -broken promises of adding tools/training to help develop more sales. -be prepared to troubleshoot every problem your signed clients may have, while also not be recognized for that work by your supervisors. -I never got paid my monthly commissions for businesses signed. -I won't get paid my year end bonus for the business volume I signed because they let me go. My target volume after 5 months was well ahead of schedule. -two weeks of unpaid training (you will lose money based on the expenses this job brings). -unproductive weekly meetings that add zero value. -also the credit processing industry has a toxic/harassing type of reputation as it is over saturated with underwhelming products... this isn't Zomaron's fault but you need to know this going in.
