Pros

I had been working for Rogers Communications for many years - with recent cuts on spending and suspension of many projects, it became a routine, which is good from a certain angle.

Cons

On the other hand, these cost-saving measures coupled with favouritism and overwhelming incompetence make my life miserable and make me think about leaving the Company.

Pros

I cannot think of any.

Cons

Hands down, one of the worst companies I've worked for. Everything about the way they build and manage tech is outdated; and worst of all they're fine with that. All processes are built around waterfall, on-prem. There are teams building in the cloud, but all processes are designed for on-prem. Want to deploy at the end of a sprint? You have to go through various meetings with release / change management explaining how cloud deployments work (each time) , fill out reams of forms that are not applicable etc... Now onto the people, the vast majority of the people (even on their "microservices" teams) would consider c++ to be cutting edge. Want to use microservices with REST? You have an uphill battle to convince people and teach them. Want to use serverless? It's banned? Why? Because it is. The level of technical ineptitude is very high to the point of making you scream.
