Pros

Great environment and positive culture. Large organisation with opportunity to travel and work offshore or simply develop yourself in the role.

Cons

Recent reduction in WFH days seems like a step back since COVID. Introduction of a new PLM system which is not intuitive and distracts from the enjoyable aspects of the job. Larger organisations in general are not so agile and open to change/improvements.

Pros

There are no pros for this company since they merged with Acergy. The company has become too big and treat employees with disdain.

Cons

Since the start of the downturn in the Oil & Gas Industry Subsea 7 have been heavily involved in crude social dumping of Seafarers and Project crew, they have and continue to use the downturn as an excuse to treat their crews very badly despite increased profits over the same periods. Many ships crews have been replaced with cheaper less qualified personnel, many project personnel including senior dive technicians were made redundant and taking on again as Jnr Techs on lower day rate pay. Since merging with Acergy, the company has become top heavy with management and the workers are being used and abused to pay their inflated wages.

Pros

Job security. Not much else to add. Just waiting until a new job comes up. Since the merger (=take over) things have been going downhill compared to the situation with Acergy. Positive thing could be career opportunity because so many people are leaving or on the lookout for some other job. Just hang on and you will rocket up.

Cons

Management is doing all they can to demotivate the offshore crew by withholding tax from salaries and not paying out any overtime. Even when overtime has been through the approval process, it still doesn't get paid out. Management is losing credibility and trust. Company has grown out of proportions and has become very bureaucratic. Crew has to be extremely flexible to suit the project but never gets any reward in return. Unfair treatment of crew, your salary depends on the location your vessel is in due to tax withholding. No answer from HR or tax department when asked to rectify/verify. I could go on and on... I certainly don't recommend working for this company to anyone.
