Pros

-The people working at TGB are passionate, kind, and incredible. They believe in what they do and care about each other. If you want to find a team that welcomes you and you want to work among the best, TGB offers that. -The benefits are great. If you can stay (in reality, if the company chooses to keep you on) you can be rewarded in the long run. -Flexible schedule & work location

Cons

-Your passion and hard work never matter. Ask this company about their turnover rate, about how they've lost so many people and why. Between people quitting after just a couple of weeks or months and multiple rounds of layoffs, TGB can't seem to keep anyone for long and those who have stayed are just shouldering the burden of last-minute changes and taking on more work. It's easy for higher-ups to blame it on the crypto market, but there is more to their business decisions and financial problems than that. -This company doesn't keep its promises, even the small ones. Monthly care packages were included in our job descriptions and employment contracts, but TGB never delivered on something as simple as that. -The crypto market is still a little too volatile and shaky to build a successful business on. Upper management never quite knows what they're doing or what they want. Simple, fundamental things--target audience, core messaging, roadmaps--were never clearly defined. This makes people's jobs a nightmare. The Giving Block is still too new and floundering to have found its place in either the crypto or philanthropy markets--and it doesn't help that the co-founders & other executives are still figuring things out day by day, which ultimately impacts their employees' livelihoods.

Pros

Customers are great. Jobs dealing with new blockchain technology are cool. But this isn't REALLY that so...

Cons

It's a product that has competitors that offer the same services for free for a reason. The founders got lucky and had a little more hustle than competitors in a bull market. There is no strategy and decisions are not based on data, rather the mood of one of the marauding founders. Customers are kept around with offers and promises which are half baked. Compensation is haphazard and often changed banking on new, and again, half baked strategies that aren't based on data.

Horrible Place for a Sales Career

Pros

About the only positive I can think of is good work life balance. There used to be a company culture/sales team feel but constant layoffs/restrictions have made it a joke.

Cons

- RETROACTIVE COMMISSION STRUCTURE - don’t expect to get paid your OTE/commission. Retroactive commission plan structured to be changed 3 days before end of quarter. (This happened 4 times in my 2 years) Had a summer sales competition not paid out at the end of the quarter because “it wasn’t approved” - Leadership has an extremely top down approach - the YES man employees are promoted and anyone who questions the status quo is effectively removed. - Not a metric driven business - reports were not aligned/ no clear metrics of what needed to be hit - No career development - can’t emphasize this one enough. Over 2+ years at this company with no growth of role or path (whether it be metrics to hit/things to accomplish). They retroactively change the comp plan so you get no commission and will pay you a below average base. This is not a job you will attain financial stability with. All the current employees talk about how bad it is + are actively looking for new roles - sales team moral is non-existent. Heard they had a bunch more layoffs so not even safe in terms of job security. One of the founders is an egomaniac that constantly crosses the line of professionalism with off color jokes on team calls as well as company calls. There is no vision and this is so clearly a sinking ship.
