Terrible place to work at

Pros

There are some good people in there that I enjoyed working with, my manager and other workers at other departments that were very helpful and very friendly. There’s a lot of people trying to fix the company.

Cons

My manager was worked off to exhaustion, burned out, he ended up quitting. The company is very disorganized and cooperating with other departments is very hard. Everyone is overworked and it’s an every-man-for-himself situation. There’s a lot of bureaucracy and politics, documentation of one department is hidden by others, people are constantly lost about how to do something. It all depends on one-on-one communication. If you need something you just have to start asking people until you find the one that can and wants to help, there’s no process. When someone leaves the company it gets very disrupted because now nobody knows how to do that thing. We often find massive amounts of code, process, things going on that nobody knew about… we don’t even know who all of our customers are, what the SLAs are, etc.

Thank you for your feedback as it is always appreciated. I can see that it is consistent with the feedback raised in your exit interview and will help with our continuous improvement. I am glad to see recognition that so many of the team who are working hard to make Wifinity a great place to work and a successful business. As a scaling business, in order to keep our agility, we have maintained some of our start-up style but are also looking carefully into how we can improve processes, streamline systems and build knowledge transfer to the benefit of not only our customers but also our team members. We are in the process of building this team with a greater commercial focus so that the knowledge of customers and SLAs will not only be known, but well known. We have also onboarded a new CIO recently, with a lot of experience in this industry, who is doing some great work to create an environment where this team will be able to excel. Once again, thanks for your feedback and best wishes in your future. Wifinity HR Director

Pros

Colleagues within the CS team are nice Generally and personally the people are nice, but ''its business'' and management will throw you under to get ahead, meet targets and SLA's - can't really trust them to have your best interests as you are 'disposable'

Cons

-Micro-management (no trust) -Treated like a child -CS employees given no voice eg. ''you have to do this because we say so, no questioned asked'' -No transparency (don't explain why changes are being made) -Unrealistic Multitasking - You are expected to take a phone call, live chat and respond to emails all at the same time - all without having any wrap time in between calls (actually impossible) - otherwise you get in trouble -Angry Customers -Bad communication between teams (not approachable) -CS treated like the scum of the company -No benefits for CS - no sick pay (whereas other employees outside of CS get this) -Short staffed so they squeeze as much work out of you as they can -Working for this company (in customer service) is actually depressing and makes you feel depressed and dread coming to work. - You have to work late shifts and most (if not all) weekends. Rota is not structured enough to plan your life -So many little system bugs that stop you from doing your job - Second line (NOC) staff don't do any work at all and no one manages/monitors their KPI's - resulting in CS taking the brunt of the angry customers

Thank you for your review. I'm glad to hear that you found the team enjoyable to work with. We're pretty proud of the skills, abilities and friendliness of our CS team. You have called out numerous concerns. Firstly, I want to say that we hear these and I have shared this post with our senior leadership team. As a member of that team myself, I spent a morning recently on the floor with CS listening to the types of calls being received. As I said to the team members when I listened in to one particular call that still required a technical solution, it is heartbreaking for us to not be able to solve a customer's issue and get first time resolution every time. We fully appreciate that there will be times when a customer may not be happy or may even be angry. We will continue to prioritise work to get the greatest outputs for our customers, aiming to make each contact a positive one. In relation to communications, in the past months structured KPIs were introduced/communicated for CS and for many these were received happily as it demonstrated standards that people could work towards. We will continue to work on our communications. The most concerning comment for me is that you believed that CS is treated differently. Everyone at Wifinity works hard. In relation to benefits, all permanent employees (including myself) have the same sick leave provisions. I am unsure if you were permanent or zero hours so perhaps that may have impacted your response. Whilst we have different departments, we are one team. I would hope that everyone felt that way and I'll be keeping my ears open when I next spend time on the phones with CS in January. Whilst Wifinity may not have been the right place for you this time around, I do wish you well in your next endeavour.
