Pros

Talented, kind and amazing co-workers Great job for gaining experience in the industry I believe fully remote options are still available

Cons

Creating a Culture of Burnout: There was too many people in leadership positions where team was unsure what their day to day contribution was and not enough people to actually do the work leading in long hours and overall team burnout. Context shifting with many team members working across multiple accounts and not enough heads down time to do the actual work. Not feeling supported in pushing back on out of scope requests and team was expected to add on more work without adjusting timeline "to be a good partner" 0 Pay Transparency: There is no transparent pay scale and compensation is all over the board with people in less senior positions making more than senior positions. People with more responsibilities making less than others etc. Overall salary is not competitive. Lack of clear & objective goals: Subjective feedback for reviews made it difficult and unclear in how to move up in compensation or job title. Feedback felt more personal and less tied to strategic business goals. There wasn't a lot of room for growth.

We appreciate the kind words about our amazing team. We agree, the people are what makes this company unique and special. Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We genuinely appreciate your input. We'd like to address your concerns in a thoughtful manner while providing some additional context around our policies and practices: Creating a Culture of Burnout: We recognize there are a number of factors that can contribute to burnout and regret that was your experience working with us. We have established many check points and communications avenues for employees to express concerns around workload, and for management, leadership and peers to come forward with confidence and confidentiality around these matters. We recognize that there may be times when workloads are heavy, but our aim is to ensure that these situations are exceptions, not the rule. We understand the importance of clear role definition. Improving communication and task allocation is a continual practice for us. That said, we can confidently say we do not aim to operate around a 'culture of burnout'. Again, I am sorry this was your experience during your time with us. We would love the opportunity to better understand your experience so we can make any specific adjustments/improvements to our employee experience. Pay Transparency: We believe in and practice equitable compensation practices. In light of this feedback, we are actively reviewing our compensation structure to ensure that it is fair and aligned with team members' contributions. Lack of Clear & Objective Goals: Clear, objective goals are essential for our team members to grow and advance within the organization. We are continuously refining our performance review processes to create a well-defined path for career progression. We apologize if you feel you were not supported in this process. Your advice on reducing unnecessary costs and improving our business strategy is well-received. We understand that creating a supportive work environment is essential for all team members to thrive. The majority of feedback we receive on the events, retreats and activities are that they are positive and valuable team building and connecting exercises. Again, we are sorry this was not your experience with them. We would love more specifics on this topic to make appropriate adjustments and ensure all employees are feeling the intended benefit. We genuinely value the experiences of all our employees and appreciate your feedback. We continue to work diligently to ensure that our practices and culture align with our values and the well-being of our team members. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

Pros

- The people who work there (and have been there for a long time) are really passionate and really fun to be around. You will most likely make lifelong friends. - Company retreats were a priority. - Truly a great place to start your career and get experience.

Cons

- Very stressful. - No proper coverage for folks who take PTO. You are most likely going to get a call and pinged for questions no matter what. - There is a strong "Family" rhetoric that feels very toxic. "We are family, so do us a favor a do more work". - If you do good work, you're going to be worked to the bone. Your reward is more work. - High turnover for Producers. - Founder comes into projects midway (with no context) and will hate all of the work, and then people are forced to redo work the night before a client presentation. - Low pay. - DE&I efforts do not seem to be a priority for the company. - Scoping work is all over the place. - Clients are sometimes the Founder's friends who have companies that don't pay the agency anything? Huh? - They will publicly shame you if you are underperforming. -

We appreciate the feedback and perspective you've raised in this review. Happy to hear you shared our passion and we have your endorsement as a fun place to work and start your career. We are sorry this positive feedback is in such stark contrast with the additional perspective you provided in this review. Looking at all of those growth areas closely and critically, we feel it is important to address points you've made to provide the reader some perspective on our organization. We also would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss any of these items in more details with you as you see fit. Feedback channels: We have a number of established feedback channels/mechanisms in place to provide a safe and confidential line of communication for concerns and issues. These include frequent one-on-one meetings, Roboboogie’s staffed HR resource, full access to a 3rd party HR consultant, an anonymous feedback portal, peer and annual reviews, and exit interviews. We take any and all feedback into these channels seriously and address them objectively, and professionally in a timely manner. Flexible Work Schedule: We have a flexible hybrid work schedule in place, which allows employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. This includes options for remote work, flexible hours, and support for personal and family commitments. PTO Coverage: While we acknowledge that covering for colleagues on PTO can be challenging, we strive to have a well-structured plan for coverage in place to minimize disruptions. "Family" Rhetoric: We are a small (<25 employee) company that fosters a close collaborative work culture. We are committed to ensuring it does not translate into undue work pressure, and we encourage open communication to address concerns around work-life imbalance. Founder Involvement: Founder involvement can sometimes lead to project revisions, but we aim to ensure that it enhances the quality of our work. We are actively working on improving timing, communication and context sharing in these situations. Pay and DE&I: We are committed to fair compensation and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. We are continuously monitoring and adjusting compensation packages and DE&I initiatives to create a more inclusive work environment. Client Relationships: Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and some may have pre-existing relationships with our Founder. We maintain professionalism and integrity in any of our client relationships to ensure they align with our values and standards. While not common, there are times that we do work in fair trade exchange or equity based work. Performance Feedback: We strive to provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to help employees improve. Public shaming is not our approach, or tolerated to any extent. We work hard to uphold and enforce our Respect tenant. Leadership: We are proud of our leadership team. Open, unsolicited feedback we hear in weekly Friday Kudos call-outs is in stark contrast to the claim here of broad leadership incompetence. A/B Test Services: We are actually seeing an increased demand for A/B testing and data-driven services. These are a focal point for our organization as a small Digital Optimization Consultancy.

Pros

The most amazing, caring humans you will ever hope to meet work here. Fully remote options, as well as a beautiful office.

Cons

The hours are always long. Expect to work mornings, nights, and weekends. People are praised for working long hours instead of apologized to. The client needs ALWAYS take priority over employees. Leadership is made up of people with little to no prior leadership experience. There are no clear standards around how to manage people. Leadership decisions are made without ever consulting the broader team. When anyone disagrees with leadership decisions, or suggests change in any way, those opinions are overlooked or the person who spoke up is reprimanded. There is a clear divide between the leadership team and the rest of the company. Pay is below average, and if you plan on negotiating pay, I hope you were captain of the debate team because they will do everything they can to NOT pay you more (unless you tell them you're about to leave of course). Don't be fooled by the idea of a fun culture. They flaunt culture around like a banner to distract you from true systemic problems in the org. Sure you get to go camping, volunteer, and have team parties. Are they fun? Yes. Do they reduce stress levels? No. Because the time you spent having fun will need to be made up for with, you guessed it, more work and late nights. The time off policy doesn't meet the needs of the stressed employees. When asked if they're willing to change it...ignored as usual. So much more to say, but if you're reading this review considering working here, I think you get the point.

We appreciate the kind words about us being the most caring people you ever worked with. Couldn't help but notice that comment is stark contrast with the rest of your feedback. We'd love to connect and chat more to better understand your position and perspective. Mainly because we do not feel your claims align with the overall culture and practices of our organization, and could benefit from some additional context. Long Hours: Our company values a reasonable work-life balance and strives to maintain it as a standard practice. While occasional additional effort may be required for specific projects, this is not indicative of our standard working hours. Additionally, we have Flex Time policies in place to give time back to folks when things slow down. Client Priority: We are committed to balancing client needs and employee well-being. Our approach is to ensure that the two are harmoniously aligned, and any instances to the contrary are exceptions, not the rule. Leadership Experience and Decision-Making: Our leadership team comprises experienced professionals who make well-informed decisions. We actively seek input from our team members, and leadership decisions are typically made collaboratively with various stakeholders. Pay and Negotiations: We have structured compensation practices and are open to fair negotiations. We aim to ensure that our employees are compensated fairly for their contributions. Company Culture: Our commitment to a positive company culture is genuine, and the fun activities we organize are intended to enhance the work environment, not detract from it. We prioritize employee well-being and aim to minimize stress. At times certain roles do need to provide client services during these activities, but we try to minimize the impact so they can still participate. Time Off Policy: Our time off policy is designed to accommodate the needs of our employees while ensuring operational efficiency. We are open to feedback and strive to make improvements that cater to our workforce's evolving needs. We believe our paid vacation schedule and PTO scales are competitive with other companies our size. We remain dedicated to our commitment to creating a supportive, fair, and growth-oriented work environment. Thank you for your feedback, and we will continue to work towards these goals.
