The results, published today, show that Group revenue was up 8.1%* in the first half of the year, while New Categories revenue grew by 50%*. In H1, we also added 2.6m consumers, our highest ever increase, to our non-combustible product consumer base, to reach 16.1m. Digital transformation across BAT is about leveraging technology to deliver value for consumers, customers, employees, shareholders and society. Technology and data are key enablers of our #ABetterTomorrow ambition and their exponential value is achieved as we ensure BAT has the skills, ways of working and culture to fully exploit them. To accelerate this transformation, our Information and Digital Technology function has joined forces with BAT’s Global Business Services team to deliver cutting-edge technology, data and process solutions for the whole organisation. Now known as Digital Business Solutions, the new function will deliver digital solutions at scale for BAT via the use of automation, data and innovation, while empowering our teams with data-driven insights and platforms. DBS’s role will be vital as BAT continues its transformation to become a stronger, simpler, faster multi-category, consumer-centric business.
