We’re committed to being inclusive in every area of our business. We know we have work to do, but our new commitments set out how we’ll tackle racial inequality head-on. It isn’t enough to not be racist, we must be anti-racist.
What's it like opening one of our new stores? Callum and team opened our Manchester, Ancoats, store just ten days before lockdown. We're proud to once again become part of the Ancoats community since we opened our last store there in 1890.

Co-op is committed to supporting communities during the COVID-19 outbreak. And we’re focusing our efforts to help frontline colleagues in food, funeralcare and logistics when our customers need us the most. We’ve recently recruited over 5000 new colleagues into our food stores to help us to replenish our shelves more efficiently, fulfil online orders quicker and provide ongoing assistance to vulnerable customers and communities. We’re also bringing new colleagues into our funeral homes as we’re committed to helping our bereaved clients during the most difficult time of their lives. Many businesses across the industry have been affected by this crisis, so we’ve reached out in collaboration to offer temporary opportunities to any staff who may be temporarily out of work during this time. We’re still actively recruiting for both temporary and permanent roles in our funeralhomes across the UK and in some of our food stores too. Visit https://jobs.coop.co.uk/ to see how you can get involved.
🏆 Our purpose is to champion a better way of doing business. The ‘Ways of Being Co-op' are four values that define how we do things. No matter what we do, they’re how we do it. 🌎 ‘Being Co-op' is about creating a workplace that celebrates difference, where we all feel responsible, valued and empowered. ‘Be yourself, always’ is one of the four values.
