Elior provides student catering at the University of Roehampton’s campus restaurants and noticed that many preferred the ease and convenience of ordering takeaways directly to their halls of residence.
Last week, our amazing Elior UK team at The James Hutton Institute played their part to help ensure the perfect visit for UK secretary for State for Scotland, Ian Murray MP, and First Minister of Scotland, John Swinney MSP. A huge shout out to our Cleaning Supervisor, Stephanie Brown, and the entire cleaning team for your hard work preparing the new building for its grand opening, setting the perfect stage for this important event and representing the Institute beautifully.
A big shout out this Friday morning to members of our Elior UK Purchasing team who recently spent time volunterring at Refettorio Felix, in London, a drop-in centre and community kitchen serving vulnerable people in Earl’s Court and beyond. It's an incredible charity with an open-door policy, welcoming without judgement anyone struggling with a wide variety of issues, such as homelessness, loneliness, substance abuse and mental health difficulties.
Photo of our Elior UK team at last week's annual McCarthy Stone Foundation Gala, held at Athena in Leicester. We've enjoyed a long partnership with McCarthy Stone and were thrilled to win the 2024 Supply Chain Award for Customer Supplier of the Year. In the words of Alex Beaumont, Food and Beverage Manager at McCarthy Stone........ “Elior have done an exceptional job planning and executing the mobilisation of 63 developments. It was a true team effort where Elior colleagues came together from across the business to spend three days in the changing developments to ensure a smooth transition. Some left home at 4am and travelled hundreds of miles to make this all happen for McCarthy Stone. There was no adverse feedback from homeowners or from the colleagues moving across so that was testament to a job extremely well done” Congratulations Gill Heath and your team for this well deserved recognition.

At Elior UK, giving our colleagues the opportunity to grow and progress is fundamental to our success and a key part of our People Promise. Adeel Mahmood is a tremendous example of a colleague applying the skills learned from their apprenticeship to the workplace and their personal growth journey. His desire for growth has included taking on increased responsibilities and promotion whilst studying for his level 7 finance apprenticeship and he has demonstrated a strong commitment to continue developing his skills, whilst leading by example and being a role model. It’s no surprise that Adeel is an Elior UK award for excellence winner too, taking home last year’s award in our Invest in Me category. We are all very proud of you Adeel and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you!
