We’ve taken a fresh look at our pay scale to make sure it truly reflects the energy, talent, and dedication you bring to every session. 💙 Here's what’s changing: • Transparent pay bands so you always know where you stand and how you can grow. • Competitive starting rates that reflect your value from day one. • Progression you can count on. Because at Explore, commitment counts. 🌟 We Value Loyalty That’s why we’ve introduced a simple, meaningful reward for consistency: 📈 For every 250 hours you tutor with us, you'll receive a 50p per hour pay increase. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of our journey — and for making an impact to our members, week in and week out. 📊 Updated Tutor Pay Bands: Age Starting Rate Under 18 £8/hr - £9/hr 18-20 £10 - £11/hr 21+ £12 - £13/hr Earn More as you progress! At Explore Learning, we value commitment. That’s why, as a tutor with us, you'll receive a 50p per hour pay increase for every 250 hours you *an additional 50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Our next essential tutoring skill is Problem Solving! As tutors when we demonstrate great problem-solving methods to children e.g. creative thinking, open questions, trial and error. We are coaching them to become problem solvers themselves.

We recognise that investing time to help a child understand a concept now will mean they can take that skill and apply it with confidence in the future!

Over the course of the next month we will showcasing our essential skills for tutoring so stay tuned! Up first is Communication! Communication is an essential skill whilst tutoring. I love this pie chart. It highlights the importance of the saying ‘it’s not what you say, but the way that you say it’. As tutors, we communicate with so many different children, parents and colleagues. It’s essential that we use clear, warm, open body language, that we get down to a child’s level, use a positive tone, smile, make eye contact and give high fives so that when we say ‘well done’ they know that we really mean it!
The first half term of school is complete and although the pandemic is several years behind us, the effect of that time is still being felt in the classroom. We take a look at the impact on speech and language development for the babies of lockdown who have now started school.
