✨ Happy National Apprenticeship Week! 🙌🏼 This week is all about celebrating the power of apprenticeships and the amazing opportunities they open up for people starting out in their careers. I had the pleasure of representing the Financial Ombudsman Service at the National Apprenticeship Show at Sandown Park Racecourse. The event brought together employers from across London, Surrey, Kent and Essex, all passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation and the energy was incredible! It was fantastic to see the students engaging confidently, showing curiosity, and taking real ownership of their future career plans. I had some truly inspiring conversations with students, parents and teachers who are exploring early careers and future pathways. 💡✨ A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us and learn more about what we do at FOS and to the organisers for putting on such a fantastic event. This week, we met with organisations representing small businesses and charities and trade bodies and associations to discuss the SME sector. We discussed the types of complaint we see, the regulatory landscape and our joint Call for Input with the FCA on modernising the redress system. We hold regular events throughout the year, and work with various organisations including small businesses, charities and trade bodies, to share knowledge and experience. Thanks to everyone who came to our SME Advisory Group meeting. Insights from the group were invaluable and it was useful to get an update on the issues small businesses are facing in the current economic climate.
