2019 was a great year for the Customer 1st programme at FirstPort. 78 of our colleagues have now completed all 4 modules of the course, with another 25 due to complete by the end of Q1 in this year. Colleagues from all of our teams attended the interactive, fun sessions where everyone picked up some valuable hints and tips to work within their roles. The programme is verified by the Institute for Customer Service and accredited by TrainingMark. It helps to enhance your understanding of customer needs and improves your verbal and written skills, whilst also helping you to deal with those difficult conversations you might need to master when speaking with your customers. Hi, it’s Helena, the Resourcing Partner for #FirstPortUK Retirement site-based roles. I recruit for all types of Development Managers for independent living sites and all Assisted Living roles too. I enjoy getting to know new candidates that we bring into the business, which means I can tell them all about the great stuff we are doing at FirstPort too! As building strong working relationships with hiring managers is so important in our role, this year I will be strengthening this by focusing on providing the best tools for our hiring managers to use for resourcing new talent. It feels great too when I get to go on-site visits to meet with my colleagues that I recruit for and meet and also those I have recruited. Helena’s useful tip – Always do your research. It sounds simple but it’s vital that you research the company and the role you are applying for. You need to make sure it’s the right role and place for you to expand your knowledge and expertise.
