We’ve welcomed 23 talented university graduates to our 18-24 month rotation programme. Based in London, Edinburgh and Stirling, our cohort will work across Investments, Global Distribution and Product, Risk and Compliance, Technology and Wealth. Greg Modlin, Head of Early Careers, said: “I’m delighted to welcome our newest graduate programme cohort to M&G. I’m incredibly proud of these exceptionally talented young people, a number of which I met through the assessment process and was overwhelmed with their knowledge, capability and motivation to join M&G. The programme provides access to the best entry level talent and I’m sure they will all flourish throughout their time with us.” #EarlyCareers #Graduates #Talent
This week is #CarersWeek, which recognises and supports the contribution carers make to their families and communities. We spoke to our colleague, Carly Greenwood, Principal Auditor, who shares her story on what it means to be a carer for her daughter with type 1 diabetes. We understand that balancing work and significant caring responsibilities can be tough, which is why our UK Carers Policy includes 10 days of paid carers leave alongside our working flexibly policy. Pride Month is an important opportunity for each of us to show support and solidarity for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and the wider LGBTQ+ community 🏳🌈 We have also been speaking to colleagues who tell us what Pride means to them and why it remains as important as ever. Jade Stuart tells us why celebrating Pride Month and being a member of M&G’s Pride network is important to her 🌈 #Pride2023 #PrideMonth #LGBT #Inclusion #Diversity
On this International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, we are celebrating the resilience and strength of our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies. Together, we can break down the stigma and create a safe and respectful community for all. Pauline Lucas, co-chair of M&G Pride, said: “IDAHOBIT is celebrated on May 17 to commemorate the date in 1990 when homosexuality was declassified as a mental disorder. While much has changed over the past 30 years, some attitudes haven't; and research shows that nearly a third of people who identify as LGBTQ+ still feel reluctant to share their sexuality at work due to concerns over discrimination.” Jade Stuart, M&G Pride network member, said: “To create an environment where everyone can bring their true self to work, we need our visible LGBTQ+ role models and allies to work together. Only then can we remove the barriers to create the paths for others to follow.” #TogetherAlways #LGBT #IDAHOBIT #Inclusion #Diversity
Our Career Returner Programme, which is targeted at experienced professionals who are looking to return to work after an extended career break, is now opened for applications for this year. Tom Baker, Head of Resourcing, said: “We are excited to be offering our Career Returners Programme, in partnership with Women Returners again for 2023. This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to return to work after an extended career break. As we know the journey back to work can be daunting, this programme and support from mentors at M&G eases that transition whilst offering flexible working, and family friendly arrangements wherever possible.” Find our more and apply here: http://ow.ly/Z15850OqNqT

To mark #NationalCareersWeek and #ScottishApprenticeshipWeek, we’re celebrating our long-standing Skills for Life programme in partnership with The Talent Foundry which consists of interactive in-person workshops, an online digital platform, and a CV review service by M&G colleagues. These opportunities support students in understanding how best to promote themselves when they're applying for jobs, university or apprenticeships. We’ve just wrapped up a workshop with our second cohort of young people in our ‘Bridge to M&G’ pre-apprenticeship programme, providing bespoke training and coaching support for school leavers who wish to pursue apprenticeship opportunities. #NCW2023 #Careers #Together #ScotAppWeek23 #UnlockingPotential
