For LGBT+ History Month, we’ve been working with our partner LGBT Great to highlight the benefits of their mentoring programme to our colleagues. The programme creates pairings, across their member firms, spanning 12 countries, which brings together the current and next generation of LGBT+ talent and allies. We asked M&G’s Pauline Lucas what they got out of their mentoring relationship. Our gender network, Elevate, hosted an interactive event in partnership with the 100 Women In Finance last week, which featured guest speaker Esther Stanhope, The Impact Guru. Laura O'Shea, ESG Manager and Elevate network co-chair, said: “It was a pleasure to host 100 Women in Finance and guest speaker Esther Stanhope at our London office for an evening of inspiration and fun. Esther’s masterclass on ‘How to Maximise your Personal Brand’ was packed with practical tips and tricks on how to own your space and get your voice heard. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout and feel the real buzz in the post-event networking session.” #FinancialServices #Event #DiversityAndInclusion
We hosted our first alumni event yesterday for our Talent Acceleration Programme. Our 2021-2022 cohort met in our London office to continue their ongoing development, which included personal development and leadership mindset workshops and a fireside chat with Matt Howells, Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer and Benoît Macé, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. Our Talent Acceleration Programme aims to identify and develop a diverse pipeline of future senior leaders. Over the course of 12 months, colleagues participate in developmental experiences which are designed to accelerate their readiness for future leadership roles. Once colleagues have completed the programme, they have the opportunity to join quarterly alumni events which are designed to sustain their development, as well as being able to connect with each other and our senior leaders. #TalentDevelopment #Talent #FutureSeniorLeaders #TalentAccelerationProgramme
We had the pleasure of hosting 11 young mentees from Urban Synergy Mentoring who participated in our work experience programme in London last week. The young people gained insights into the investment management industry, our business and the early career opportunities available at M&G. Maria Wilcockson, Apprenticeship Scheme Manager, said: “We were particularly impressed with student presentations about the financial challenges and barriers to young people investing. The depth of research, creativity and delivery were outstanding. We have seen a big change in the student's development in just one week.” Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us in making a positive and memorable first impression of our industry for these young people. #EarlyCareers #WorkExperience #Students #Apprenticeships #Recruitment #NextGeneration

Great to see our colleagues continue to volunteer their time and skills as mentors on the YouthLinks employability programme, providing young people with key skills as they transition into the world of work. Colleagues provide mentoring on topics such as CV writing, job interviewing, resilience and confidence building. YouthLinks is a global mentoring programme that enables our colleagues to mentor young people from SOS Children's Villages International programmes in India and South Africa. It uses mobile technology to offer young people a range of activities, including training and career opportunities, that increase their skills and employability. Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the initiative. #Mentoring #Volunteering #Employability #InternationalDayofEducation
As part of M&G’s commitment to community building, two groups of employees from our Singapore and Hong Kong teams participated in our flagship charity partner Habitat for Humanity International's Project Home Works recently. The teams worked at locations across both cities and helped transform homes of vulnerable people and families into a safe state through the decluttering of items, cleaning and sanitising of homes. At M&G, employees are entitled to two days paid leave per year for volunteering, which can be arranged personally or through one of our volunteering programmes. #Volunteering #MandGintheCommunity
We hosted M&G’s 2023 Inclusion Awards this week, now in its fourth year! The awards are our opportunity to recognise the inspirational colleagues and teams within our organisation who positively contribute to diversity, inclusion and well-being. Mark McLane, Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Well-being, said: "I want to thank everyone who put forward a team or colleague for recognition in this year's awards.
