More than ten members of staff at MHA Willesden Cour have been recognised for their efforts and dedication with a long service award. All the staff members have been working there for a minimum of 10 years, amazing! One of the recipients, nurse Victoria Francis said: “I have been working here for more than ten years and it's a great place to work. “I feel like I will retire from here but for now I am just going to continue doing my job and caring for the residents as much as I can.” “I have been here for 18 years and can’t even think about going anywhere else.” Anne Fenlon, Home Manager said: “We have an amazing team at MHA Willesden Court “I am so proud of each and every one of them and for all the care they provide for our residents in helping them live later life well.”

MHA Priceholme care home senior care assistant Cameron picked up a prestigious hero award for his amazing work and dedication. Cameron Norman was awarded the Social Care Hero Award at the Scarborough News Business Excellence Awards 2021. Cameron joined the home 18 months ago and was promoted to senior carer in a year after impressing the home manager with his compassion and work ethic. He was nominated by the family of a resident he cared for and says he was “really surprised” when he was told what had happened. “The care I provided to the resident I got the award for was over six months ago, and for the family to remember that is nice. It feels really special to be appreciated and it's a really lovely gesture from them. “I am really happy I made the decision to join MHA, and I am really enjoying my job. Anna Gillon, home manager said: “I'm very proud of Cameron as he is the first person from the home to get the award. For someone who has never worked in care before, his work ethic is amazing, he is very gentle with the residents and they love him to bits."

Graduation celebrations! We're really proud of 8 of our MHA Communities Managers who've completed a Business Management Level 5 Foundation Degree through MHA and the University of Derby. Chermayne Bennett, MHA Communities South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Manager said: “I've really enjoyed undertaking the qualification. It can be challenging at times, but having the qualification strengthens my skills and has provided me with practical knowledge that I can apply to my job. For anyone considering a qualification at MHA, I would say go ahead and do it!" Spencer, Academic Lead at the University of Derby also said: “I'm massively impressed with how successful the scheme managers have progressed through this qualification, their graduation is all about celebrating their fantastic achievement over the past 16 months which has been phenomenal. They’ve had a tough couple of years, undertaking the qualification at the start of the pandemic and throughout that time we’ve had to adapt and change the modules to suit their online learning and they’ve each taken it within their stride.”
#TeamMHA Spotlight: Tracy, Manager at MHA Assisi Place, a retirement living community. Tracy has a wealth of experience working with people in various roles such as supported living and started her MHA journey 2 years ago. We talked to Tracy about her time at MHA and she said: “ I am really enjoying working at MHA, my team is like a little family and that really appealed to me. “Residents make my role, helping people regain independence gets lost in other places, but things are different here at MHA. “When residents come to us and are improving because of the support given by our scheme, that is really rewarding. “Some days are tougher than others, but I wouldn't for one-second change what I am doing. “You have to be fully committed when working in the care sector. “My team has been excellent during the pandemic and they adapted very well to the challenges in front of them, which is essential when working in care."
