From frontline teams to support functions, it’s the dedication, passion, and commitment of our colleagues that make The AA such a great place to work. A huge thank you to everyone who continues to make The AA a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work. Congratulations — this recognition belongs to all of us!
We’re incredibly proud to share that The AA has once again been awarded the RoSPA Gold Medal — our seventh consecutive year of recognition for excellence in health and safety! This award reflects the consistent commitment across our business to keeping colleagues safe and ensuring everyone gets home safely every day. With nearly 2,000 entries from around the world, this recognition is a real testament to the standards our people uphold. A huge thank you to everyone across The AA. We’re proud to share that the AA have been named 'Service Provider of the Year' at this year's Fleet News Awards. Furthermore, we were also highly commended in two further categories! These awards celebrate excellence across fleets, manufacturers and suppliers - recognising organisations that are delivering strong outcomes for customers and the fleet industry, so it’s a great reflection of the work happening across our teams every day. A huge thank‑you to every colleague whose hard work, professionalism and commitment makes achievements like this possible.
At The AA, inclusion is central to who we are - and we’re proud to have renewed our commitment to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme for another year. As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16–20 March), we marked Sunflower Day on 19 March with a company-wide webinar hosted by our Ability Network. The session brought colleagues together to learn more about non-visible disabilities, hear directly from representatives of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme, and explore practical ways we can all help make everyday interactions more inclusive. The Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for people living with hidden disabilities - including neurological, cognitive and physical conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, chronic pain, anxiety and sensory processing differences. Wearing a sunflower lanyard, badge or card discreetly shows that someone may need a bit more time, understanding or support. It’s a small thing that makes a big difference, helping create awareness, patience and inclusion. Renewing our commitment is about more than a symbol: it reflects our belief that recognising non-visible disabilities is essential to building a workplace rooted in empathy, understanding and belonging. Our network groups continue to champion inclusion across The AA, helping ensure every colleague feels supported and able to thrive.
This week our Senior Leaders have been working with Cambridge Spark as part of our "Leading with AI programme" – building the confidence and practical skills to use AI in ways that create real value for colleagues and customers. Over the past year, we’ve launched a full suite of AI learning, including Cambridge Spark’s leadership programme, alongside structured ChatGPT training now rolled out to 1,500 colleagues. We’re already seeing this translate into live use cases in areas like Claims and the launch of our Enterprise AI platform. Real transformation starts with leadership. By investing in our leaders first, we’re making sure AI at The AA is human-led, outcome-focused and grounded in delivering better experiences for our colleagues and customers.
To mark National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Multiverse to build future-ready, practical AI skills across The AA. Through our AI for Business Value Apprenticeship Programme, colleagues are developing hands-on AI capability that can be applied directly to real business challenges, supporting our ambition to deliver "Digital convenience with Human care". With 50 colleagues already enrolled and early impact being seen across multiple areas of the business, this is another step in investing in our people and preparing for the future of work, while keeping human judgement and care at the heart of everything we do.
This week, our People team took part in a fantastic Lunch & Learn session delivered by our wellbeing partner Posturite, with expert speaker David Mitchell leading a thought‑provoking conversation on neurodiversity in the workplace. The session provided practical insights into the different ways people think, process information and work at their best, reinforcing the vital role we all play in creating an inclusive environment where every colleague feels supported to thrive. From deepening our understanding of key neurodivergent traits to exploring simple, meaningful adjustments that can transform someone’s day‑to‑day experience, the session helped strengthen our collective expertise and confidence. Importantly, it also highlighted how we can further support our leaders in recognising, valuing and nurturing neurodiverse talent across our organisation—ensuring we continue to build a workplace that celebrates difference and empowers individuals to do their best work. Together, we’re building a workplace at the AA where every mind is valued.
On Thursday 11 December we held our AA Awards 2025, where we showcased the best of the best at The AA. With over 2,800 nominations, our highest ever, the competition was fierce, and the achievements even more inspiring. Every winner and finalist has gone above and beyond, demonstrating our behaviours and driving The AA forward. Among them, we're proud to highlight Megan and Lee who have been awarded the prestigious Patrol of the Year for 2025! 🏆 Megan has made history as the first-ever female recipient of this award, marking a significant milestone in our journey 🎉 The Patrol of the Year award is designed to recognise exceptional performance and behaviour among patrols. It celebrates individuals who consistently demonstrate technical excellence, outstanding customer service, and embody our organisational values. Winners act as ambassadors for the company, representing the brand to members and business customers throughout the year. This recognition is not just symbolic—it often opens doors for career progression and development opportunities. Megan and Lee stood out for their exemplary teamwork, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Congratulations to both Megan and Lee on this well-deserved recognition, and to all of our AA Award Winners! 👏👏
We are proud to be Fleet partnership award winners! We've been recognised at the Transport + Energy Awards 2025, winning the ‘Best Private Sector Fleet Partnership Award’ for our work in fleet decarbonisation. With over 96% of our emissions coming from our 3,000+ operational fleet, reducing our carbon footprint is a key priority, and we are working hard to decarbonise where it is practical to do so. We have worked closely with Rightcharge to provide home re-imbursement services on the home charge points we have installed and also provide simple charging on the go form over 70,000 EV charge points across the UK. We continue to work with Rightcharge to establish a future market design on how to reimburse our colleagues as technology advances and vehicle to grid becomes more common. Our Head of Fleet said, “Collaboration and simplicity for our colleagues, was at the core of making this work. I am unbelievably proud of the teams across fleet, the wider AA and Rightcharge for making this happen and winning this award.”
We were proud to mark International Men’s Day by having Elliott Rae – founder of MusicFootballFatherhood and one of the UK’s leading voices on fatherhood, masculinity, and mental health – join us for an inspiring session focused on men’s mental health and support. The event created space for open conversations about wellbeing, breaking down stigma, and practical ways to support one another. The session delved into how roles at home and work are changing, the challenges of balancing family life, the importance of supporting one another, and how expectations have evolved over time. Packed with personal stories, practical tips, and heartfelt reflections, this discussion provided some valuable insights into how men can look after themselves and those around them. At the AA we believe mental health matters for everyone, and we’re committed to building an inclusive culture where colleagues feel heard and supported. A huge thank you to Elliott Rae and all who joined us for this important discussion. Together, we’re championing wellbeing and positive change.
