After receiving more than 2,800 nominations from across the business, we were thrilled this week to be able to announce which of our incredible colleagues have been shortlisted as finalists for this year’s AA Awards! 🎉 The AA Awards showcase the amazing achievements that we accomplish together, and our culture of recognition and celebrating success is part of what makes the AA a great place to work. Being shortlisted is a huge achievement and is a testament to the impact they've made across the business. Their hard work and commitment to excellence truly inspire us all. We can’t wait to celebrate their successes on the big night and share in the excitement of recognising their contributions. We’ll also hear more about some of our amazing patrols, who are being awarded special honours for outstanding acts of bravery and initiative while on duty. Their courage and quick thinking made a real difference, and we’re proud to be able to shine a spotlight on their incredible stories. 🏆 A huge congratulations to all our finalists and for everyone who was nominated!
At The AA, we believe in investing in people and building careers from the ground up. Our Trainee Patrol Programme is a shining example of this commitment – a structured, multi-phase development pathway designed to transform passionate individuals into skilled roadside patrol professionals - and this week we were delighted to welcome our third cohort onto this exciting programme. Launched to address the UK automotive sector’s growing skills gap, the programme offers a unique opportunity for those with foundational experience in vehicle maintenance to retrain and thrive in a new career. The programme has already seen two successful cohorts across various regions, which has produced some confident, capable patrols ready to hit the road and serve our members with pride. We’re really proud of the programme’s success and excited about its future. Whether you’re looking to start fresh or grow your skills, The AA’s Trainee Patrol Programme is more than a job – it’s a career with purpose.
We recently hosted an inspiring Women in Tech Connect event, in partnership with Hays! 💫 We brought together women in tech from a range of industries to share stories and discuss topics such as empowering women in technical roles, fostering allies, and building an inclusive workplace culture. It was amazing to see so much energy and collaboration in the room, with great discussions around how we can all drive positive change within the tech industry.
Our AA Mobile Mechanics recently joined forces with community initiative, Dial 2 Drive, to offer free vehicle servicing to dedicated volunteers in Kent 🔧 Joe, Phil and Martin all use their own cars to help vulnerable people attend essential appointments. By servicing their vehicles at home, our mechanics ensured they can continue their vital work safely and reliably 💪 James Hosking, Managing Director of AA Mobile Mechanics, said: “These volunteers are the unsung heroes of our communities. We’re proud to support them and help keep their vehicles in top condition.”
We’re proud to share that The AA has been recognised as Highly Commended in the Defaqto Travel Insurer of the Year Awards, a fantastic achievement that reflects our commitment to delivering quality and consistency across our products. Our Travel Insurance product stood out among over 100 brands that were assessed across home, car, travel, and pet insurance. This recognition is based on feedback from more than 15,800 individuals, highlighting what truly matters to customers, from clear quotes and policy information to responsive support and a seamless experience from purchase through to travel. A huge congratulations to all that were involved!
We were delighted to host a 'Future Forward' networking breakfast recently, bringing together emerging talent from our London and Basingstoke offices. The event created a vibrant space for apprentices, interns, and graduates to connect, share experiences, and explore career journeys. Two inspiring speakers from across the business shared their personal stories, highlighting the value of squiggly careers and the lessons learned along the way. The session reinforced a powerful message: career paths are personal and diverse—there’s no single ‘right’ way to grow. We’re proud to support our colleagues in embracing their unique journeys and shaping their own futures. #AACareers

Happy Birthday to us - The AA officially formed 120 years ago today! It’s inspiring to be part of an organisation with such a rich legacy. From its beginnings in 1905 warning drivers of speed traps, we've come a long way since then! Throughout our 120 year history, The AA has played a significant role for both members and drivers, and has evolved into a modern, customer-focused company that continues to innovate. Whether it’s pioneering road signage, supporting iconic events like Wimbledon and Glastonbury, or investing in EV technology and AI, The AA blends heritage with forward-thinking solutions. The culture here is one of pride and purpose. Our history is filled with memorable moments—from the iconic AA badge, to creating and running the the first fuel station in the country, having saluting Patrols and manned Sentry Boxes often dubbed as 'AA Telephone Boxes', to being known as the ‘Fourth Emergency Service’. Today, that same spirit lives on in our commitment to delivering world-class service, and giving drivers confidence now and in the future. It’s a great time to be part of The AA—where tradition meets transformation.
