Our team members across the estate always work exceptionally hard….and never more so than during the summer holidays! So, what a great time for our People Director Nicola Marshall to hit the road and recognise our hard-working teams, this week along the M5. Creating lots of smiles, we rewarded some team members with a scratch card prize and an opportunity to win anywhere from £5 to £500! We are loving this year’s summer campaign and being able to recognise our Summer Champions. #weareateam #lifeatwelcomebreak
This week saw the graduation of our High Potential Class of 2022 programme with them delivering their final presentations to our Senior Leadership Team followed by a celebratory lunch! The preparation and commitment this group have given to the programme is thoroughly inspiring and we enjoyed listening to them talk with passion about their next steps towards their continued professional development. The High Potential Programme gives our leaders who have the performance, potential and belief that they “can do a larger job tomorrow than they are in today” an opportunity to really grow their leadership skills and their professional network within the company and this is something that we are hugely proud of at Welcome Break. It has been fantastic to watch them grow and learn, the future is looking great!
Our team members were busy last month, with the opening of THREE Pret A Manger stores. Last week the third Pret store of the month officially opened its doors at Birchanger Green, helping to further expand our culinary offerings to those stopping off with us. We would like to say a massive thank you to the incredible team who pulled together to make all three openings possible throughout June. If you're passing by Warwick South, Birchanger Green or Fleet South, be sure to check out the newly opened Pret stores.
He/Him, She/Her, They/Them? Our 3rd PRIDEcast aired last week with our very own Serenity Westfield talking to John Alexander Bailey (JB) and helping to demystify the topic of Sex and Gender Identity. "It's the best one yet!", according to some of our team members. Today we are excited to be sharing our final PRIDEcast in the series with our teams, discussing How to be a Great Ally. #wearewelcomebreak
Tell me more, tell me more! Last week we hosted our annual Summer Ball to raise money for our Welcome Break Charitable Fund, supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and projects in our communities, and what a night we had! BIG thanks to everyone who came and helped us raise over £90,000 and to our amazing suppliers for the fantastic prizes donated for our raffle and silent auction. If you haven't guessed from the pictures, our theme this year was Grease! Nicola Marshall our People Director was dressed as Sandy and our Chief Executive John Diviney dressed as Danny supported by Pink Ladies, T-Birds and Rydell High Students! Thank you to Colin Prontaprint for printing our event backdrops and our very own 'Greased Lightening' built especially for selfies! It was definitely one of our best Summer Nights!
Our first PRIDEcast went live last week with our very own team members, John Alexander Bailey (JB) and Charlotte Smith discussing 'What is Pride' and sharing the history of Pride to our team members. Each week throughout June we will be exploring a new topic and sharing another lived experience from one of our team, making sure everyone knows, and feels, that they are welcome at Welcome Break. #wecare #wearewelcomebreak
