Which? Gardening principal researcher, Adele Dyer, heads up the gardening research team, based at Capel Manor College, where the team runs in-house trials for publication in the magazine. ‘This job is my perfect mix of hands-on gardening, research and writing. I have worked in purely gardening jobs in the past, including for the National Trust at Cliveden and RGB Kew, but I missed using my brain. There are also jobs to be tackled here that I wouldn’t be able to do elsewhere, such as working out ways to be more sustainable. This covers everything from finding the best peat-free compost for all our trials, reducing our water use, moving away from plastic use and finding an alternative to the current, aged gas boiler in the greenhouse.’ To find out more about our latest career opportunities, visit https://lnkd.in/d_DpCw4 #CareerDevelopment #JobsAtWhich
Today, we sent a joint letter, as a coalition of organisations, charities, industry bodies and MPs, to reiterate our long-held and growing concern about the decline in access to and acceptance of cash in the UK. We demand that the government follow through with its promised legislation to #ProtectCash. This is why it's important for millions of consumers and thousands of businesses ➡️ https://t.co/IQw6prZ2IR Age UK | Association of Convenience Stores | Fairer Finance | Independent Age | Bira - British Independent Retailers Association | Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) | Refuge British Retail Consortium | StepChange Debt Charity | Money and Mental Health

Colleagues can get involved in any way they’d like - be that walking, stretching, swimming, cycling or even dancing. We’ve also set up an app so people can track how they’re doing versus colleagues - no doubt there will be some competitive souls out there! Plus, there IS a prize for the best photo so look out for the winner next week! What’s the most enjoyable wellbeing initiative you’ve taken part in at work? Introducing Lisa Barber, senior editor and Which? Computing editor. She says: 'I first started out at Which? as an editorial assistant on its computing magazine, so I’m now absolutely thrilled to be that magazine’s editor. During that time I’ve covered a lot of roles and learnt a lot at the organisation, ranging from how to work with test labs to being the acting editor of Which? magazine when the pandemic kicked off. The reason I’ve stayed here so long is down to two things: the people and how I’m always learning.' Her top career tip is: 'Don't be afraid to try something new and be prepared to move sideways in an organisation – you'll pick up new skills, learn from more people and keep yourself motivated.' We're delighted to welcome Richard Still (Rik) who recently joined Which?, as director of technology, following ten years at the Financial Times. He says ‘For five of those I was a technical director initially working on FT.com and then FT Specialist. In both areas there were big product and technology transformations that really helped move the business forward. ‘I grew up with Which? and always knew it to be a voice you could respect and trust. I was drawn to the broader mission and I think my experience in publishing and P&T over the last 18 years can really help. ‘Companies really need to nail their digital proposition. To have world class products we need world class product development and underpinning that is the right technology, data, people and processes. I’m just getting my head around the organisation but my number one priority is building out the team so we have the right mix of skills to deliver our mission.’ #DigitalTransformation
