As part of our #BlackHistoryMonth celebrations, our Mosaic Network committee organised a tour with Black History Walks, led by Tony Warner. Taking place in St Paul's, network members and colleagues across the business had the opportunity to find out more about Africa’s influence and contribution to London’s way of life, ranging from architecture to British wealth. Linda Ogbenna shares on her tour experience: 'A very insightful experience that I encourage everyone to attend. The host, Tony, does a great job of delivering the tour in the most interactive way possible, leaving us with so much to think about once it's over.'
Say hi to Kula 👋 Kula works in our front-end development team and has been with us for three years. 'Being a tech lead at Which? is great. I enjoy setting technical roadmaps and leading my fellow engineers and making sure we’re on track with achieving our objectives. I also work very closely with the product owner and UXD, helping them with technical discussions. From time to time I enjoy coding and pairing up with the engineers as well.' It's a pivotal time for technology at Which? as we drive forward our ambitious transformation programme, putting users at the heart of every product we create, evolving our technologies to deliver best-in-class user experiences

We’re proud to share that we’ve launched our first ever ethnic minority employee network – The Mosaic Network – which is dedicated to celebrating and supporting colleagues from minority ethnic backgrounds. We caught up with the network's chair, Natalie Powell: 'Many of us know what it feels like to be the ‘only one’ from a particular background in the room and in a general work environment. My hope is that the group feels like a community, encouraging each other to bring our authentic selves to work, socialise and have fun, with the opportunity to get to know colleagues from across the organisation. We want it to be a forum for honest and open conversations in a safe space while working to support the Which? vision of a more inclusive workplace.' #ethnicminority #network
Congratulations to Stephanie Mckie, who is our September Values Sharer. Our Values Sharer award is presented monthly to a colleague who has gone above and beyond to live up to the Which? values. Stephanie was nominated for her efforts in stepping up to manage our Member Services Online team while her manager was on leave. One colleague said: ‘She was always available, always helpful, communicated brilliantly and did a tremendous job by responding to members incredibly quickly’.
Congratulations to our August values sharer of the month, Hossein Mirzapour, front-end developer, for his work developing code that will eventually support the majority of all Which? webpages. One of his colleagues said: ‘I wanted to recognise Hossein's continuous efforts to keep our new code base to a high standard. The plan from the beginning was to establish coding patterns that are easy for all developers to duplicate and maintain. This code base is now shared with many squads and fosters a culture of an internal open source project where we all contribute - it’s something that has never existed internally at Which?’

Introducing Ollie Coker, resourcing business partner, who joined Which? following a role with an insurance broker where he helped scale up their technical teams. Attracted by the Which? vision, he now sources technical team members to work on projects across D&I, internal systems and recruitment processes. He's the bridge between candidates and Which? and his aim is 'to champion candidates throughout, like we champion the UK consumer'. Find out more about careers at Which? https://lnkd.in/d_DpCw4

Over the past year and a half, Slack has been one of the ways our colleagues have kept the conversation going on all sorts of topics. Jon Stricklin-Coutinho community manager, says: ‘It’s a great place to chat with people you wouldn’t normally hear from. During lockdown, I found that some of our channels are great for ideas on setting up your workspace at home. Some provide levity to get through the day, and others are good sources of inspiration to learn and look after yourself.’
