Congratulations to our latest Values Sharer, front-end developer Lee Priest. Lee is being recognised for his amazing work on the Scam Sharer tool, following the launch of the scams set-piece moment. One of his colleagues said: ‘Lee has been instrumental in ensuring that the Consumer Action Squad was able to build and launch the Scam Sharer tool (https://whi.ch/31WBc2t ), which allows people to share and highlight scams they’ve received. He’s been incredibly proactive, dogged, determined – a tremendous effort that has delivered a high-quality experience with far-reaching implications for Which? and UK consumers.’
We’ve been asking our Which? colleagues to share a top tip on living more sustainably. Matthew Knight, principal researcher and writer, says: ‘One thing I did a few years ago, at some expense, was to replace all the lights in my house with LED equivalents.’
We've been asking our colleagues to share a top tip on living more sustainably. Aaron West, senior researcher and writer, says: ‘Many people consider reducing their meat consumption but don’t think about the carbon impact of food waste, so make sure you only buy as much as you need and store it properly.’ Find out more about our sustainability commitments here https://lnkd.in/ez6FXFG
We've been asking our colleagues to share a top tip on living more sustainably. Tina Boye Dias, senior project manager, says: ‘My tip is to set up or join a WhatsApp group for your street/building. When doing up our garden we were able to borrow tools plus give away unwanted plants and some spare green roof from our new shed to our neighbours.'
In this recent comment piece for The Telegraph, our CEO Anabel Hoult calls on the UK Government to stand up to tech giants to end the scourge of online scams. #scams #OutsmartScammers
Our new creative campaign designed by St Luke's and Smith & Foulkes went live this week, shining a light on the scale of scams and our free scam alert service. Neil Caldicott, director of Audience, Brand and Communications at Which?, says: 'Which? research shows the devastating financial and emotional impact scams can have. As the scammers become increasingly sophisticated and harder to spot, anyone can be caught out – not just those we might consider most vulnerable.'
Meet David Greenfield, our final apprentice to join Which?. David has joined our Data Analysis team[JT1] and is in week four of his new role, where he is already gaining hands-on experience. Congratulations to our latest Values Sharer winner, senior researcher/writer Chiara Cavaglieri! Chiara is being recognised for her research into scams and for being such a strong ally for consumers. She persuaded banks to refund thousands of pounds to fraud victims and has proactively shared examples of scams she’s come across with other teams so they can alert the public. Her colleague said: 'Chiara's work is of huge benefit to consumers, including many who have suffered severe financial and emotional harm from scams.'
To celebrate last week’s National Pie Week, the People team set themselves a competition to make homemade pies or pastries. The team made a great variety of pies, including beef, chicken and mushroom, vegetable slices, cherry pie and the winning Greek tiropita pie. We might be biased, but these are definitely Which? recommended!
We’ve recently introduced you to two of our new apprentices. This week it’s the turn of Emmanuel Netsere, who is an apprentice in our People team. In addition to learning all about the world of HR, Emmanuel is also studying to gain his Level 3 HR Support Certification and CIPD licence over the next 18 months, involving two exams.
