"Many of us have found having to deal with yet another lockdown difficult and tiring at times. We spoke with a few of our colleagues to find out how they're making it through the latest lockdown. Martha Roberts, senior content producer/writer, shared how she's focused her efforts on her creative pursuits.
Say hi to Rosie Farmiloe, Trusted Traders compliance team leader. Rosie started her Which? journey as a business support coordinator in 2016 and has spent the past few years developing and moving her career forward within a number of roles internally, including endorsement coordinator, financial services manager and most recently as a compliance team leader. Rosie’s tip for those looking to advance their career: 'If you’re willing to change roles, you’ve got to be comfortable accepting the fact that you’re going to be the “new” person again – the comfort zone is comfortable, but nothing grows there.'
Say hi to Conor Bannister. You may recognise Conor from previous updates as a wellbeing champion, and he was our Values Sharer of the Year winner in 2020. Conor joined Which? as a customer sales and service adviser in 2019 and has recently got his first promotion as our learning and development adviser. Conor says: ‘I am very excited to get my first promotion and to be a member of the People team. My first two weeks have been super busy. I have met with lots of lovely engaging colleagues with high energy. It’s been very hands on and my first challenge is ensuring a positive onboarding experience for our brand new apprenticeships programme.’ To find out what it’s like working at Which? and to view our current opportunities, click on the link below. https://lnkd.in/d_DpCw4
Last week included ‘Blue Monday’ – supposedly the most depressing day of the year. To help us dodge the January blues, we’ve launched a #seizetheday challenging our staff to complete a simple task each day providing a little distraction and helping with wellbeing. Colleagues have risen to the challenge, posting photos as evidence, with activities ranging from drawing something you can see from your window to trying something different for lunch. Here's one of our favourite photos, taken by Cathy Webster while out on a walk on a frosty morning. What are you doing to combat the January blues?
Congratulations to our London power down project team, who are our latest team recognition award winners. The team was set up to complete our IT infrastructure project, which supported the recent maintenance work in the London office. They spent weeks preparing for the high-risk task and managed to successfully and rigorously complete the project without any issue. A lot was at stake with this project, but the team’s hard work and determination paid off.
Thank you to the prestigious panel who joined Michael Briggs, head of sustainability for our latest internal Let's Talk event: Rob Harrison, director, Ethical Consumer; Lugano Kapembwa, founder & CEO, LoopCycle; Helena Leurent, director general, Consumers International; and our host Neena B., head of campaigns, Which?. The big question up for debate was: Which? has led the consumer safety debate for years. Can we now change the conversation - and consumer habits - when it comes to sustainability?\

Say ‘hi’ to Kula Mahendrarajah, who works in our tech team as a front-end developer. Kula has been with Which? for two years and was promoted after her first year. Kula is now the engineering lead in her squad. She is responsible for the functionality of the review section on the Which? website and ensures it looks and feels right for our members.
Congratulations to our latest Values Sharer, front-end developer Mike Timms. Mike is being recognised for his recent work on the successful migration of our campaign system, which falls outside of his day-to-day responsibilities. His colleagues nominated Mike because he’s gone above and beyond to resolve an unexpected issue that hit this business-critical project. He took ownership, working with various teams to lend a hand, and thanks to him all of our automated emails are now being sent from a new platform.
We’re delighted to announce that we have joined the #10000BlackInterns programme, which will provide paid work experience and training and mentoring opportunities, across a wide range of sectors, to help transform the horizons and prospects of young Black people in the UK.
