Frances Briggs celebrated her work anniversary recently and was duly praised for her dedication and expertise as she raised a glass to a decade at Winn Group. Starting as First Response Team Admin back in 2015, Frances progressed to Fee Earner, before stints as a Team Leader, then Deputy Head of Pre-Litigation, before assuming her most recent role as Impecuniosity Team Manager.
Winn Group held its annual charity quiz night recently, raising a fantastic total for our chosen charity of the year the Rainbow Trust. Held just around the corner from our office, in Heaton, the event attracted 23 teams vying for the ‘coveted’ Winn Group quiz trophy. Although the glory went to Beyonce Know-Alls – made up of Rachael Farrimond, George Logan, Eva Robinson, Danny Lennox, Aaron O’Donnell, and Kate Brooks – the night’s main objective was to fundraise as much as possible for the charity. A fantastic effort, combining the raffle and ticket sales, we’ve managed to raise £1,306 which was donated online to the cause recently.
Starting out 10 years ago in an entry-level position, he has progressed significantly over the previous decade and is now Head of On Hire. Michael has made a big impact in his current role, utilising a commercially aware approach to boost both team performance and financial results.
Winn Group toasted the 15-year anniversary of Alex Hall recently, with the First Response Team member saying his time here has been like ‘being part of a big family.’ Working in the First Response Team since 2010, Alex has risen from the training desk to a Team Leader role, giving him an in-depth knowledge of the processes involved in FRT. After receiving the obligatory champagne, flowers, and vouchers, Alex, a popular member of FRT, was delighted to hit this milestone marker. He said: “It’s brilliant knowing I have a place and I have been growing and developing so much, also the people here are amazing and we are like a big family.
Four aspiring solicitors have taken the next step in their Winn Group careers with the announcement of our latest training contract offers. Winns is proud to invest in the training and development of its employees, supporting countless young trainees through the process of becoming a fully qualified solicitor. Next to undertake the two-year training contract is Olivia Coxall, Charles Pattinson, Brandon Macdonald, and Neve Flowers.
Winn Group is pleased to announce a positive performance across all key indicators in Financial Year 25, 12 months of continued growth and evolution across the company. The Directors can report that revenues grew from £190m to £196m, with gross profit also rising from £54m to £59m, resulting in EBITDA, before exceptionals, moving above the £40m mark for the first time to £40.6m, a rise from the £37.4m posted in Financial Year 24. A 32% increase in legal fees, thanks to the significant increase in Non-PI legal fees (46%) and PI Fixed Recoverable Costs (38%), was aided by a growth in MOJ Portal revenue by 19%.
group of eight Winn Group golfers took to the course to complete a mammoth four-round challenge in aid of charity. Jon Snee, Michael Stuart, Tom Birkett, Kieran Embleton, Hugo Scott-Stuart, Mark Pallas, Rob Bulch, and Jonny Anderson set their alarms for 2am to start their marathon day at Close House Golf Course at 3.45am. Playing 72 holes in 16 hours saw the eight walk approximately 14 miles, with hundreds of golf swings thrown in for good measure.

One of the largest corporate teams at the Sunshine Run 2025, Winn Group once again took the Quayside by storm! With 38 runners on the start line, Winn Group was well represented in the annual charity 5km run, which raises money for the Sunshine Fund, a regional charity that supports young people with disabilities by providing life-changing equipment not available on the NHS. Team Winns raised a fantastic £3,097 for the cause.
Winn Group is delighted to play its part in the creation of a new Byker-based community centre, called the Lighthouse Project. Built to support the families living in the Byker wall area of the city, we, as a proud resident of the area, are thrilled to have contributed £12,000 worth of kitchen and art resources to assist the project. The Lighthouse Project is a state-of-the-art facility that will offer a range of activities and opportunities for youngsters in the local area.
