The first step out of university into the working world is often an important one. For Daniel Strong, it turned out to be the start of a decade of development at Winn Group, where his career has been significantly enhanced. From junior fee earner to qualified Solicitor and Team Leader in the Personal Injury Department, the journey from 2015 to now has not been lost on Daniel, who toasted a decade at the company recently. He said: “When I first started, I was a young fresh-faced graduate. I’ve qualified with the support of the firm and grown into my role as a Team Leader within the Part 7 team!
A lot can happen in 20 years! Ask our latest employee to hit the 20-year anniversary milestone, Kelly Bolam, and she’d certainly agree. When taking her first steps into the Winns offices back in 2005, she began as an office junior. Fast forward two decades and she now leads a team and is a constant source of advice and guidance to others around her. Skilled in her role within our First Response Team, Kelly has been appreciated by far too many people to mention over the years, but Chris Jones, Associate Director and Head of FRT, tried to summarise her impact best.
Jake Robinson has joined a growing group of Winn Group employees to celebrate 10 years at the company. A sign of our experience and expertise in our industry, the list of staff who are with us for significant stretches of their career continues to expand. Not only that, but this decade celebration also demonstrates a work culture and environment that appeals to those seeking opportunities and career progression. Jake’s line manager, Deputy Head of FRT Paul Hewitson, praised him for his input over the years, becoming a valued member of our First Response Team.
Jeff Winn has decided to step down from his position as Winn Group Executive Chairman. Ending a 23-year association with the company that he founded, Winn will remain as a major shareholder and board member and will instead provide support to the organisation through a new consultancy arrangement. Previously Chief Executive for two decades, he moved into the Executive Chairman role three years ago, with Chris Birkett (pictured alongside Jeff and Marta Fernandez Varona) assuming the role of CEO. Winn has been instrumental in the development and growth of the company, helping shape it into the leading accident management company that it is today.
Chris Cullingworth’s Winn Group career has passed the 20-year marker, joining an ever-increasing number of Winns employees who have achieved the milestone. The Associate Director and Head of Vehicle Damage – Pre-Litigation has been with the company since 2005 and played an important role in the growth of the departments he worked in and led. Chris Birkett, Winn Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Congratulations to Chris Cullingworth, who has achieved the milestone of 20 years of service with Winn Group. “Chris started out his journey in FNOL, which was actually called ‘Front End’ back then, has had a lengthy spell as Head of On Hire and oversaw the growth in hire work at a time when the business pivoted towards hire and repair work.
✨A Night of Winn-ers 2025 ✨ We had an amazing evening celebrating our incredible staff and their achievements over the past year. Our staff enjoyed a 3-course meal, a live band and a DJ to end the night. It really was a night to remember!
When Kirandip Sidhu joined Winn Group, she saw the potential for progression and career enhancement. Keen to take on a leadership role, the Costs and Debt Recovery employee has worked hard, performed strongly against targets, and has now been rewarded for those efforts with promotion to a Team Leader role. Winn Group proudly promotes a culture of encouragement and opportunity, providing tangible routes for those who want career progression and skill enhancement. Backed by supportive Team Leaders, and department heads, each individual is offered chances to take their next step with Winns, as the company appreciates the value of experience and expertise, something that comes with an extended time at the organisation.
Saule Balciunaite, Chelsey Carr, and Lucy Dinning began their training contracts recently, taking a well-trodden path by those who have progressed before them. An important step in the career of an aspiring legal professional, the training contract represents the chance to qualify as a Solicitor and be inducted into the Solicitor’s Roll. It opens up a whole host of future opportunities, develops the skills and competencies of those who complete the contract, and provides the platform to go on and do even more in the profession. Winns has always taken great pride in offering multiple training contract opportunities during the calendar year, offering them only to internal employees who are eligible to apply.
