Our G20 Roadmap for enhancing cross border payments As the G20 meets, our latest report reveals where cross-border payments are advancing—and where they’re stuck. While the G20 promised faster, cheaper, more transparent payments, billions are still lost to hidden fees and outdated systems. What we found: 🔓Direct access for non-bank payment providers is crucial for competition and financial inclusion. Countries like Brazil and the UK lead the way, while the US, India, and others lag—keeping costs high and choices limited. 💸Transparency is still missing. The FSB claims “100% remittance transparency,” yet hidden fees are everywhere, buried in exchange rates that leave consumers guessing the true cost. Our call to action? 🌐 A global standard banning hidden fees, enforcing transparency, and opening payment systems.
