One of the most common mental benefits of exercise is stress relief. Exercise also increases concentrations of a chemical called norepinephrine that can moderate the brain’s response to stress. Working out can reduce stress and boost the body’s ability to deal with existing mental tension. Exercise releases endorphins which create feelings of happiness and euphoria. Studies have shown that exercise can even alleviate symptoms among the clinically depressed. In some cases, exercise can be just as effective as antidepressant pills in treating depression. In this mechanical world where people are running after material pleasures and inviting stress, a short morning walk can do wonders in curtailing the level of stress in them. On a very basic level, physical fitness can boost self-esteem and improve self-image. Once you start and maintain the specific physical exercise, you can never go back. Your body will crave this healthy "drug," which will stick with you for the rest of your life, improving it in many aspects. Time spent for physical exercises is never lost.
June packs a lot of power of black history and culture, especially this year... it's a true "Remember & Rise" moment. Beyond Juneteenth Day, a celebration recognizing the actual and long overdue implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation — a US government document liberating Africans from enslavement — June marks the significance of two other meaningful commemorations: the Black Wall Street Massacre's 100th Anniversary and Black Music Month. The first Juneteenth celebration took place in Texas where formerly enslaved people celebrated in public their newfound freedom with song, dance, parades, and fellowship. This tradition also continues today with some of the same festivities celebrated worldwide.
