Today on #WorldBrailleDay, we’re celebrating colleagues and partners for their wonderful project “LEGO® Braille Bricks pilot in Mexico.” This project entails extensive #LearningthroughPlay training sessions of the LEGO Braille Bricks concept for teachers to become more equipped to include play in their teaching practice. At the end of this pilot, we expect to reach more than 35,000 children in Mexico ❤️ A big thank you to The LEGO Foundation for leading this project in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education of Mexico and CEIAC (Center for Education of Blind People in Chihuahua).
Every year, Project Director Mogens Brynning quietly but expertly pulls the strings to make sure all LEGO® colleagues receive an extraordinary LEGO holiday set made only for employees. He has done so since 2013, when he became project lead for the so-called 'employee Christmas gift team’ 🎁🎄🤩 They work on this top-secret project for a whole year (!) until the set is finally revealed just in time for the holidays. “This is a fantastic part of my job. It’s an amazing team, and it’s incredible to see our colleagues’ reaction, every year, when the models are revealed,” says Mogens. “It’s also a playground for testing new ideas and doing things in a different way. We’ve experimented with developing models, packaging, and building instructions simultaneously. These are learnings we can use when we develop our retail products.” “I know a lot of people would love to get my job, but they will have to drag me out of here legs first before I surrender,” he laughs out loud. #BehindTheBricks #LEGOTeam
