What is the hiring process like at Accenture?

A temporary gig with no perks, no stability, and no Future

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Flex is OK for short-term work: If you're looking for a temporary gig or just need something to bridge the gap between jobs, Accenture Flex can be a option. Easy entry: The hiring process is relatively quick compared to other full-time roles. Flexible to get in and out: It's OK if you just want to work for a few months without long-term commitment.

      Cons

No job stability: Once the project ends, that’s it. There’s no help or placement to another project. You're done. No vacation or paid time off: Unlike full-time Accenture employees, Flex workers don’t get vacation, sick leave, or personal days. Poor health insurance: Flex offers Limited options and expensive premiums compared to regular employees. No retirement benefits: Don’t expect a 401(k) match or any kind of retirement planning help with Accenture Flex. No bench time: With Flex, If your project ends suddenly, you’re out—there’s no transition period or pay while waiting for another role unlike regular Accenture Lack of career growth: You’re essentially a contractor. No promotions and minimal development opportunities with Flex. No long-term projects: Assignments are often short and there's no guarantee for extension.

      Pros

Great way to get experience working with social media companies, learned a lot about politics, news, advertising, social media company, marketing, job postings and tech sales. In the project I was part of I learned a lot about the world. Most of my bosses were genuinely amazing but I did cycle through a good few. You learn a lot about working with fortune 100 clients. The consultants are nice to work with. You get experience training people, working with a wide variety of teams. Pretty good pay for my experience at the time, the hiring team is very nice and the hiring process was easy. Also I was given a therapist due to the nature of the work. Also got an hour of paid wellness, which was nice but I think that just extended the workday by one hour for no real reason. It does feel like important and purposeful work.

      Cons

The project I was assigned to was not as traumatic as some other ones thankfully. But you see a lot of things, you see how crazy the world and the internet can be, which in these times can be hard to watch. I didn't get an annual raise.

      Business outlook

      Pros

Accenture is always up to date with the latest required trainings in Gen AI and advocating diversity, professionalism in the workplace (at least for the Corporate function) Employee Share Purchase Plan and SP Professional Managing Directors in North America and generous with providing feedback. They recognize your efforts and hard work. Accenture policies from Mobility, Finance, Suppliers to MEP is so systematic. I've never seen such a great collaborative environment in the past ten years of working with other corporate companies.

      Cons

They don't invest in IT or the ticketing system. Either local or IT based in other countries are just too slow! And responses are always generic. The IT's performance seemed to be overlooked. Thus, the company laptops provided are quiet old and too slow unless you know how to properly archive your Outlook emails!! The hiring process was too slow than expected so you have to be patient in following-up the status of your application. They don't offer high paying salary compared to other competitors in the market.

      Overall Decent Company

      Customer service representative
      Former employee
      Austin, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

I would say the best things about Accenture is the hiring process and training was quick, easy and informative. Accenture does have great benefits and the pay was great (depending on your project) and Accenture did give out yearly bonuses and location based pay. Also, the team I was working with were great at communicating while working remotely. I would go back to work with Accenture if the pay and project fits my personal needs.

      Cons

I would say the downside working with Accenture would be my most role wasn't long-term job, no career advancement. Before getting laid off a project and no explanation, a few people within the team that were hired before me were there for approximately 2-3 years. The companies that hire Accenture for consulting tech support can change or end their contracts and employees are left to find a job with Accenture (or lucky enough to find another project within Accenture and get hired).
