Difficult Interview
Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Barts Health NHS Trust (London, England, England) in Jul 2021

Interview

2 part interview - Drug quiz test and the actual interview part. Not allowed to use calculator. No other candidate in the classroom passed so good luck to them. You need a calculator, even on the spread sheet exam it stated so as they were difficult questions. However, we were not allowed to use one (even if provided). With only 1 hour to answer to over 60 questions, unless you are excellent at maths and never use a calculator at work, don't bother.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Barts Health NHS Trust (London, England, England) in Feb 2021

Interview

I applied for the role in Feb 2021 and I had my MS Teams interview on March 2021. It was an interview with two senior management. I must admit senior management were very friendly and what I liked the most was that the whole interview felt more conversational rather than Q&A. After the interview Excel test was given to the shortlisted candidates where I had to analyze data and do a PowerPoint presentation. Finally, I was offered the role on April 2021.

Interview Questions
  • 1) Why did you applied for the role? 2) What does your colleagues think about you? 3) What are the main PCR 2015 policy while tendering process? 4) Give me an example where you have successfully managed different stakeholders? 5) Technical question on procurement.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Barts Health NHS Trust (London, England, England) in Jul 2020

Interview

Interview was not very well organised; the panel members logged on nearly 10 minutes late which made me feel anxious and concerned whether I had the correct dial-in details. The Head of Finance also refused to switch on her camera. Process seemed very dry and basic. The Head of Finance called me to say that I have been successful at the interview then offered me the job over the phone. I asked if I could think about the offer and get back to her the very next day with my answer. I accepted the role however she was then playing games with me, not answering my calls and refusing to give me an answer. To this day, I don't understand why someone would offer the job and not pick up the phone or return email replies when the candidate has accepted the offer. The overall vibe I got was that the company is disorganised and there is a poor unacceptable communication from the Head of Finance. I wonder what that says about working at the department? My advice would be to apply with caution. I'm lucky to have dodged a bullet.

Interview

Overall, the hiring process was really bad and I hated it. I was interviewed by a smelly cow who looked like she was about to die. Old hag. Never applying ever again. Their recruitment process is so long-winded! Waste of time.

Interview

I arrived for my interview 15 minutes ahead of my interview time and reported to reception. The receptionist telephoned the human resources manager to say that I had arrived. 30 minutes later I was still waiting in reception so the receptionist telephoned the human resources manager again to ask if she wanted me to be sent up to the third floor. 45 minutes later another human resources manager arrived for work so the receptionist asked her if she wanted to deal with me. This human resources manager agreed to take to the third floor for my assessment. My invite to interview email had requested that I prepared a presentation, so I was surprised that my assessment included a presentation on a completely different topic to the one that I had prepared. The assessment included a financial analysis which I duly performed and an answer sheet on which I was to write the answers to the financial analysis. I was surprised that on completing the financial analysis the human resources manager did not want the answer sheet so I kept it. After my assessment I had to wait in a corridor for 45 minutes before being asked to a panel interview. The panel interview lasted 45 minutes and consisted of a presentation followed by a competency based interview. The interviewers did want to see my answer sheet. How can the interviewers assess candidates if they do not look at the answer sheets to see if the assessment has been performed correctly? The whole interview process was a complete mess. I know that the Care Quality Commission has rated Barts Health as needs improvement, but I think that Barts health should be put back into special measures.
