The first interview was with a recruiter, the interview was on zoom. The conversation was pleasant, I received all of the information on the position and the company.
The second interview was with a tech lead, very down to earth conversation where I had to describe a project I did in the past.
The third interview was a classic leetcode interview.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Close (Jackson Hole, WY) in Nov 2024
Interview
Call the technical leadership that's supposed to be non-technical and followed by additional interviews. The first interview had odd open-ended questions about the details of HTTP. Interviewer was a tad difficult to understand what they were asking.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Close in Apr 2024
Interview
Close You crushed the interview process. I have interviewed at a fair few places now and Close is by far the best experience I have had interviewing. There were three things in particular that stood out to me:
1. The initial application was effectively an interview in it of itself. It took some real investment just to apply. This could be a real negative if you didn't hear back, but it means that only serious candidates are applying.
2. Each of my interviewers was familiar with what had happened in previous interview sessions (probably because they were using Close to track it all! 🎊) and often times built off of points from those past interviews. This is sooo rare to see in an interview and allowed each interview to be efficient, productive, and cumulative.
3. A _great_ technical interview should give the company a clear idea of exactly where a candidates current limits are. By the end of the process, I genuinely felt like Close understood my capacity and I knew that whatever decision they made would at least be based on a realistic picture of me. The worst is when you finish an interview process and you have no idea if the company even saw what you can do.
