I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (San Jose, CA) in Jun 2014
Interview
One phone interview which asked a few basic conceptual technical questions, as well as a number of non-technical questions. One onsite interview, mostly technical, but also behavioral. Spoke to two different software engineers during this role. Did not speak to manager until after receiving an offer.

Question 1
How have you used databases in the past, and how would you use them for <name of web application>?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at IBM (Raleigh, NC) in Oct 2012
Interview
Between first contact from the Hiring manager, to my offer, it was 8 days (very fast). I was contacted by email. A technical phone screen was scheduled for the following day (30 min and 30 min). One was more technical, the other we just went over my resume.
The day after, the on-site interview was scheduled for 5 days later. They flew me in for it, and it lasted like 6 hours. I spoke with 5 different team members. Most were pretty straight-forward questions about Java, things on my resume. The tougher one was with a Senior engineer who was a phD. He asked about Data Structures and Algorithms, Big-O algorithm efficiency, but even this wasn't so hard.
No one asked me to code anything on a whiteboard, which was awesome because I was nervous. But if asked to, I would've solved perpetual motion to get that job. Additionally, I brought a folder of some of my best work from college, to showcase it when applicable.
By the last interview, they patched me in with the hiring manager (who was located at another city), and he basically said "what can we do to make you come work for us?" or something to that effect. I said "make me an offer".
The next day after I got home, I got an email with an official offer. I was ecstatic.
The offer was for an entry-level position. Since I had interned at the company previously, I think that helped me get hired too. I was basically converted to a full-time employee from an intern.

Question 1
One the phone, they asked how to define a destructor in Java (like in C++, which would deallocate the object from memory).

Go to Company Web Page to Apply for Job, submit your cover letter and Resume, wait for the auto generated rejection email. I applied for new jobs while I worked at IBM and never got a response from any Managers.
