Called for an in person interview after initial round. Took one month to receive any feedback, cancelled on the afternoon before because it was offered to another person. Waste of everyone's time and lack of professionalism,

I had mixed feelings at the conclusion of the overall interview process. The initial stages were very positive, consisting of two separate screening calls—first with the talent acquisition team and then with the hiring manager. Following these, I progressed to the final face-to-face interview. The final stage involved a one-hour panel interview, during which I delivered a presentation and answered a series of standard interview questions. This was followed by a lab tour and an opportunity to meet the wider team. Up to this point, the experience was professional, engaging, and well-organised. However, the overall experience was ultimately tainted by the lack of communication that followed. I was initially informed that I would receive feedback within a maximum of two weeks after the interview. Unfortunately, this did not occur, and I experienced significant difficulty obtaining any meaningful updates regarding my application over a nine-week period. In the end, I was unsuccessful in receiving an offer. While I understand and respect the outcome, the prolonged silence following the final interview left me feeling disregarded. Given the time and effort required for the later interview stages, this lack of communication reflected poorly on the candidate experience and suggested a lack of respect for applicants. If it was not for the current state of job market I would have withdrawn my application weeks before the rejection.
