I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Bury St Edmunds, England) in Sept 2015
Interview
Two part interview following the on line tests. A role play for 10 minutes followed by some competency based questions. Really friendly, welcoming approach by the two M&S staff. Made you feel that they cared about selecting the right person for the company and the job. Have lots of information about the job and what was involved. A good experience that is worth preparing for if you want to work for the Company.

Question 1
What did a customer expect when they visit an M&S store?
Quite informal, mostly asking about my reasons for applying to them specifically - I recommend looking at their welfare and environmental status, and the fact that their brand is associated with higher quality food

Question 1
Why would you choose to work at M&S rather than at another supermarket?
I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (London, England)
Interview
Very chilled out interview with a few questions about simple stuff like what you would do in a confrontational event. Really nice interviewer, felt more like a chat than an interview.

I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Glasgow, Scotland) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview lasted about 40 minutes, with a lot of questions about how you have handled situations previously and why you are a good candidate for them. Overall, an average interview just come prepared with the latest news and up to date product knowledge of the company.
