Having applied for the role by completing an on line application form, I was contacted approx 2 weeks later to carry out a telephone interview. The telephone interview lasted 30mins and involved questions relating to my experience and understanding of the role. Following this, I was contacted approx 3 weeks later to attend a face to face interview at the Canary Wharf Offices.
The interview started 15-20mins late, due to the interviewer being held up. I was eventually collected and taken to a room to conduct the interview. Apparently I was supposed to deliver a presentation as part of the interview, however due to an apparent mix up with the recruitment team this was never conveyed to me. Therefore the interview consisted of questions relating to the role itself and how my background fits with this. The entire interview lasted approx 1hour.
4 weeks after the interview, I still hadn't heard anything so I emailed to request an update. Another week went past without communication so I sent a further email to chase for an update. 6 weeks after my interview and after 2 chaser emails, I was finally sent a generic response stating that the process had been concluded and they had decided to move forward with another candidate. Had I not persistently chased I would not have received any response what so ever, which is deeply disappointing given how far along I was in the process and the time/effort invested.
I thanked them for their response and requested any feedback that I could take away from the process, But to date, I am yet to receive any response to this request. Overall the process felt very disorganised and I would've expected a little more courtesy given MasterCard's reputation
