I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Baltimore, MD) in May 2011
Interview
I interviewed for the Operations Analyst position in December of last year. The interview was relatively easy. It consisted of an on-campus interview on-site and another 2 1:1 interviews before they split us up into a team to work with legos. The puropose of the exercise was to see how we would as a team. They tell you to remember where everythnig goes and you only have about thirty seconds to rememberize where all the lego peices go. The trick is to come up with a plan to build your own model and your own idea. Esentially they want creativity and teamwork. Morgan Stanley is a great company although they are beginnig a series of upcoming layoffs, but the feedback between HR takes way too much time. I have heard this from a number of other people. Most people take other offers by the time the process concludes because the delay is too long.
Asking general behavioral questions like self intro, any relevant experience with client, future career plan, etc. It was two round in person interview and nice culture and people. Good experience overall
I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Glasgow, Scotland)
Interview
Was very nice. They show you the building between rounds of interviews. First is a group interview, and then two individual interviews. The people are nice as well, and very friendly.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Feb 2026
Interview
Simple and straightforward and something you can take with you after. I hdid a lot of prep, and believe it is important to do so even until the morning of. It is also important to know about the firm and be yourself.
