You apply, get your interview with your date and time. Turn up, wait for the receptionist to call who you will see through. Go into an interview room with either 1 or 2 person(s). Then it is an informal discussion of why you want to work there and explaining about yourself.

      Call Handler Interview

      20 Jan 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bedford, England
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at NHS (Bedford, England) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I have been for a lot of interviews over the years but this one was by far the worst. It was clear from the moment I sat down that the Interviewer hadn't even read my CV. When I explained that I couldn't finish my Nursing Degree due to my Ex husband getting a Restrainign Order after years of abuse and that at the time I felt my children were my first priority as they had witnesses the abuse, she looked confused and still couldn't seem to understand why I hadn't completed my degree. They then gave me good old fashioned maps to read which Yes I understand if the power had to of down etc, you should know how to but in this day and age I never learnt because of all the technology we have. My last question was about the negative feedback I had seen online and how some felt it was a company with two many chiefs and not enough Indians in this particular role and I felt that she was really put out by this question. As I used to be a recruitment consultant I feel if you are doing interviews you should be able to handle questions like these. I did laugh when I got rejected due to how badly the interview went. It is a shame though because this is people's lives we are talking about and I wouldnt want anyone answering the phone to me in a emergency which is what I think they will get with their current criteria.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me to read old map books They asked about my experience but clearly hasn't read my CV They didn't have a clue about the actual position, I was there for part time nights, I was told it was full time and days
