Interview
The interview itself was a good experience, and the interviewers were friendly and personable. We had an enjoyable conversation.
Sadly the Rolls-Royce recruitment team can only be described as a disorganised shambles. None of them seemed to know what they were doing, and they clearly weren't talking to each other. I had multiple calls from different people on the same day, delivering precisely the same information, because nobody had talked to anyone else or updated the logs. One offered travel expenses but never came back to me about it. When I enquired about it, they were confused and said 'did someone offer that?'. Following the interview, I was left hanging for more than a month, and when I finally heard from the team it was to try and generate my interest in a similar role in a different location. She had no clue that I was still waiting for the result from my interview, but agreed to look into the matter and find out what had gone wrong. Several days later I got a bland, impersonal, and automated rejection e-mail starting with 'Please do not use this email address for replies as they won't reach us.'
My encounter with Rolls-Royce was therefore disappointing. The role and the company were both of interest, but the whole thing was torpedoed by their own recruitment staff.

Following an introductory call with HR, an interview with the Team Manager and Hiring Manager is scheduled. Questions revolve around your CV, focusing on your digital design and FPGA experience, aerospace applications, and familiarity with DO-254 compliance. They may inquire about specific projects and your understanding of industry standards, particularly in aerospace, while also assessing your alignment.
