Spotify recruiters found my profile on LinkedIn interested, so they contacted me regarding the position. After several emails exchanged in a short period of time, a development task was given to me to finish in couple of days time. Assignment was to make an automation framework around one app and tools of their choice.
After successfully finishing this task, an one hour Skype video call was arranged between me and QA Team Lead with mostly background questions and/or everyday use technical questions.
Then I got invited to fly over to Stockholm, Sweden to visit their HQ and just verify my technical/personal traits. On their expense, of course, with a two nights sleepover which is for a recommendation. 4 hours of standard Java / HR meetings later I was given a great response, a positive outcome on the site.
They left the details of the deal to be discussed after I returned home which is good as I had my family to talk to regarding the deal. Unfortunately, the offer they gave me was not enough for me to move with my family to Sweden. The offer was fair and adequate for the position. It could provide me and my family a nice living in Sweden, but I had a better offer home.
The whole interview process was a blast for me, fun, practical, little to none theory programming terms (search Java interview questions), a lot of hands on questions, very fast recruiting (from start to offer three weeks which is exceptional for a foreign job applicant). From the short time I had in Spotify HQ, they are an excellent place to work.
I will rate this one as difficult as this is an objective score. For me this was an easy interview as I was a automation developer working on several projects similar to the test I was given.
